I was trying to understand just how long is the walk from one end of BWV to the other. I have done AKV Kidani halls, all the mods and most of the values. Anyone have comparisons to share?

According to this post in a previous thread:

"Distances from the Front Desk Lobby to the Furthest Room for DVC Resorts*:
AKV Kindani = 1,425 ft.
BLT = 1,000 ft.
BCV = 1,000 ft.
VWL = 975 ft.
AKV Jambo = 825 ft.
BWV = 675 ft.

*Distances for changes of floors not included.
FYI - OKW and SSR are each over 3,500 ft.

Some more info on the BWV distance:
The furthest boardwalk view rooms are a bit closer than then furthest standard view rooms as the Distane to room #2001 next to JellyRolls is only 635 feet versus the 675 feet to room #2135 down next to the tennis courts.
As mention before the 675 feet is the same distance down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom from the center of town square to the center of the hub. It is also the same distnce as the walk from the BWV lobby to the parking lot entrace closest to the BW Convention center via the covered walway.

If you have done the Kidani walk to lobby from a room at the far end of the north wing, you will think the BWV walk to end rooms is extremely short. Done both and the one at Kidani practically requires pitching a tent and spending the night when you get about half way there so you can finish the arduous trek in the morning.

NP!

Sorry, I didn't intend to chastise you. I just didn't want to take credit for the information compiled by another dis'er ;)

FYI, I used Goolge to search, it works better for me than the board search.

But how many times are you walking from the lobby check in to your villa? I think better distances would be from the bus stop to the furthest villa. Or from the pool to the furthest villa. Those are the distances you are going to be walking. Or from the elevator lobby to the furthest villa.

VWL doesn't have a check in desk in the villas. But I seldom went to the check in desk unless I came through the lobby from the boat or parking lot.

The distance doesn't seem too long when you have something to look at. But when all you see is a long narrow carpet with doors on both sides, that seems much longer than walking down a landscaped sidewalk area.

We just had a villa on the Pembe savannah side that was almost at the end of the wing. We could not believe how far the walk was, and we are a healthy family with no health problems. We now understand why there are benches on the walk from the end villas to the lobby - you need a place to rest during your long hike.

I could not imagine having elderly parents or very young children in those end KV villas.

The walk to the end villas at BWV is a piece of cake compared to KV.

My friend and I normally stay at BWV...we both own there. A few years ago, we decided to spend a night at Kidani. OMG!! We figured we were veterans of the hallways at BWV so no big deal if we decided to walk to the end of the building. So very wrong!!! We just kept walking and walking and walking. When we got to the end, I said we should have brought food with us!!! Now, we had to go all the way back. I think it took less time to walk to Jambo House!!!

But, there is stuff to look at along the way...which BWV doesn't have. But, those hallways are loooooong!!!

:rotfl:

During our first trip, we had a problem in our villa at Jambo, and the next day we moved to another room. The Bell Services guy brought out new keys, took our bags, and showed us the way. We went from one far end of Jambo alllllll the way to the other far end. We thought we'd never get there.

Yep those Kidani hallways can really be long. This poor guy never made it out. ;)

I did the kidani walk last year . ITS not as bad as it seems .
All I know is that it took me a fair amount of addtl time to walk to the furthest end of Kidani vs furthest end at BWV. I think it was something like 90 addtl steps. Yes, I do count my steps. Usually do that when walking to my villa for the first time.
