How long does it take to get to DLR from Hollywood?

I will have a rental car but everyone says I won't need the car once in DLR so I also wanted to know if I can drop the rental car off once we're in DLR.

Another point is should I just keep the car so at the end of the trip we can drive to LAX? We are staying on property so do they charge parking fees?

Thanks:)

If staying "onsite" (DH, GCH & PP), the parking is included in the "resort fee". So having the car isn't costing you extra to park.

I live in Hollywood, and it takes - with no traffic - about 45 minutes to get from here to Anaheim. Then, you have to make your way to the Disney property, and that will take another 5 minutes from the freeway exit. Yes, parking is included if you stay at one of the resort hotels and there is some walking from the lot to the hotel but not too bad. However, keep in mind that if you stay at the Grand Californian and have a lot of bags, the guest parking that is included in the price is across the street from the hotel, so my friend opted for the valet parking so we didn't have to lug our bags. You won't need the car at Disneyland but if you don't want to take a taxi or shuttle back to LAX, you might want to just hang on to the rental car.

That was my thought that even if I dropped the car off when we arrived in Disney the cost it would be to now get from the hotel to LAX I might as well hold onto the car. As long as I don't have to pay to park it it does give us the option to go somewhere if we wanted too.

However, if we decided to drop the car off when we arrived at Disney is there a place I can do that?

I am sure there is. I have never had to do that (since I live out here), but I am sure someone much more experienced in that than I can answer. But Disney takes so much pride in covering every aspect of guests' needs that I am certain there is a way you can do that. There is a rental car office in Downtown Disney but not sure which company. If you are staying at one of the hotels, they will be able to help you - or try Guest Services.

Thanks Sherry, I'll ask my TA what kind of car we have and then find out from DTD what they have and maybe it can work out.

We have done with and without car. Pricewise, you may as well keep hold of it, and it is very convenient (especially if you have to go on the Great Coffee Hunt whne you can bear the park coffee no more!) Traffic times to Hollywood can vary somewhat, but 45 mins is a safe estimate.

I believe that there is an Alamo office in Downtown office & you can arrange to drop off/pick up a car there, but check out weekly rates. It might work out to have the car there for your use when you need it.
