I agree that someone in that series of phone calls should have simply explained to you that there was little hope of recreating the paper trail, but then the outcome may not have been in your favor if that had happened. I think you got the refund simply because they realized they were stringing you along. Can you imagine if the cruiselines kept all the paper receipts for each cruise? I think that is above and beyond what I would expect them to do. I do expect them to keep my total tally for a while after the cruise.
Well they told me the first phone call they had the receipts but just needed someone to retrieve it.By the way, it was the day after we got off.
Then the ship went into dry dock and the put offs got ridiculous.
I told dcl i would drop the dispute as long as it was a signed bill from one of my party. What bothered me was there already was a charge for the same timeframe and thought it odd there was a charge from DH bill.I know they credited me just to end the ordeal, but was told over and over again they would get back to me,(sups included) which they didn't and that they did have the bill but couldn't put their hands on it.
I felt this was very inexcusable. The charge was minimal. If I was the sup I would've just credited it probably after the 4th or 5th phone call but it got totally out of hand. It was the principal.
What if it was a large charge I was disputing? If memory serves me,I don't recall getting bar tab copies. You just sign.(I could be wrong)But on my other cruises, I got printouts each day and confirmed the bill before I left.
Just felt this is an issue they need to address.
