Disposable Changing Pads

I would like to start using disposable changing pads for baby on a regular basis. Putting my pad on a public changing table, then back in my bag is icky. At target, they sell 10 for $4.99, which I think is a little pricey. Does anyone know where I could get less expensive ones?

I rarely use a public changing table. I prefer to change in the van or stroller. If I have to use a changing table I get paper towels out of the dispenser roll and cover the table. I put two long sheets down so everything is covered completelly. Then I can just throw them away after I am done.

I tried the disposable pads but it got expensive really fast. So instead I'd wipe the changing table down with clorox wipes before putting my pad on the table.

I tried those disposables too. I hated them. I had to pack more than one. (cause you never know how many diapers you are going to change.) So it was bulkier than just a normal changing pad. The price was very expensive. So I just started carrying a small travel size of Lysol's Anywhere spray. If I have to use a public changing table, I spray it down. I have also used paper towels in a pinch. Even changed dd in her stroller.

But your question was the price. Sorry I got off topic. :rolleyes1 It has been awhile. But the cheapest place I bought them was Baby's R us. I used those once in blue moon coupons that get posted on the net and stocked up. It was 5 off 25 dollars. I remember checking my Walmart and with Baby Q they were not close.

Hopes someone knows where to get a great deal for you.

I am not sure if they are cheaper it has been a year since I bought any but I use to get mine at Babies R Us. I would also spray with the travel lysol before putting the changing pad down, then when I was done I would fold the pad in a way not to get the part that touched the changing table on the part that the baby lays on then put it in a gallon ziploc and reuse a couple of times.

I've been using the Munchkin disposable multi-use pads. They come in a pack of 24. I think I paid like $5-6 at target. I can fit 3 diapers, 3 changing pads & my travel wipe container in my "Diapees & Wipees" bag. They aren't as big as the ones specifically for diaper changing mats, but they are pretty big. Of course my guy is still little so they cover most of him still.

I've always heard that the pet "piddle pads" from the pet stores were cheaper and really the same thing.

Ditto. The only place I ever used a public changing pad has been WDW! I used a homemade wipeable changing pad then - I just made certain to wipe down the pad with clorox wipes before leaving the restroom. BTW, If I know I'll be carrying a changing pad (just in case) I always make sure I use a bag that has an exterior pocket exclusively for storing the pad. Just because I still don't want it inside my bag with baby's things even after it's been wiped down, KWIM?

Also, I did buy a pack of disposable pads but never used them - they were sooo small. I think they were Huggies brand.

I don't use them any more since my boys are potty trained now, but I used to buy the Depends-type liners (bought generic brand) to use as diaper changing pads. They were cheaper, disposable, and they are definitely big enough to cover the diaper tables (one son was 3 1/2 before he finally potty trained, so I needed really big pads). They take up as much room as the diaper in your diaper bag, though.

Those public changing tables have always given me the willies. I've never seen a custodian clean them when they clean the restrooms, so I always changed DD in her stroller. I did carry around a changing pad for use at people's homes or if I had to change her in the car, but I always kept it in a zip-top bag like a PP suggested. The disposable ones are a great idea, but pricey.

Check out your home medical section of the store. There are disposable pads there that are meant to cover a bed for those who are incontinent. They are large enough for the whole child to lay on and not worry about them touching the table. They are also sold in bigger packs that cost less. You can also check a local medical supply store. They would also have them.
