Trying to avoid taking our digital camera, I was at an amusement park a couple years ago and kept forgetting my camera case everywhere...I found an assortment of disposable cameras ( waterproof ect...from a camera store on ebay) It looks reliable and affordable to purchase a bulk supply of these to use throughout our trip to WDW.

Has anyone done this? I realize the expense of development afterwards however I am think this may be my pereference over my digital camera even in a fanny pack.

Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions? As always I appreciate all the experts on these boards...

careful of their expiration dates if u buy from ebay. I purchased a bunch from staples (staples.com if you dont have one near ) they sale theirs for 3 for $9 and they expire 2008. Think walmart's cheapest is 5.75ish.

oh careful of the speed as well. Imho under 400 isnt useful since you will have to bring one for outdoor and one for inside.

staples ones I brought are 800 with flash

DD age 7 wanted to take her own camera, so we got her a disposible one and they turned out great (other than the subject matter!!!) They look as good as our 35m $200.00 camera, we were very pleased with it and will get her one for this year's vacation as well. They are extremely light so she didn''t mind carrying it in her fanny pack.

We use disposable cameras all the time. When we go away on vacation, we also stick an address label on the camera, should be leave it somewhere by mistake.

This would also help if you were to go to lost and found, I would hate to pay to develop someone else's pictures. LOL

Have you checked WalMart prices? There was $5 off two Fugi coupon in last Sunday's newspaper. The nonflash ones would be $1.47 each with that coupon and the flash ones like $2 more. I've never found a better price on namebrand cameras.

Yeah, we found some off-brand disposable cameras at Walmart for $2.00 each. They are for outside picture taking. I have been told that you can store film in a freezer and that it will last for years. I wonder if you can do that with unopened disposable cameras?

I don't know if I'd try putting the disposables in the freezer due to condensation on the lense. I've not tried it, but just thought this would be the reason not to store them in the freezer.

That's a great idea!

The only problem with the disposables is getting them home. You have to be careful with film going through the xrays at the airport. They ask if you have film in the suitcase. They also recommend hand inspections if you are doing carry on.

With a digital you don't have to worry if your pictures are going to be ok.

Something to consider, maybe sending them out for developing before you leave WDW if you decide to go disposable.

Do NOT do this with disposable cameras! I used to be a professional photographer and the reason we kept the film in the fridge (NEVER the freezer!) was that professional film is made differently and isn't meant to have a long shelf life.

Today's films last a very long time and will not be affected in the short time frame of planning a vacation. They are made to be VERY stable.

Remember, if you freeze a disposable, you're not just freezing the film. You're freezing the entire camera, including all the tiny pieces that can get brittle in the cold.

For the price, you absoultely can't go wrong with the Fuji cameras from Walmart (or whereever). They give fantastic results, great color and very sharp for a disposable.

And if you didn't want to take them through the xray at the airport, there's a Walmart right near Disney on 192. You could buy them there and even have them developed there before you leave.

These are selling around $5.00 per camera here in Southern California. Not sure what you would save from Ebay.
