Dispelling Triumph vs. Quest misconception

I had emailed Maclaren about the Quest seats being deeper than the Triumph. Got a reply from them. The seats are the same size. The Quest has the leg extensions and may appear deeper because of the fabric folding over the edge of the seat, but without the extensions up, the seats are the EXACT SAME LENGHTH, 9.5 inches. Just checked and my Graco stroller and cheapie Kosco umbrella stroller are also 9.5 inches deep. Always thought my Graco had a deeper seat, but I guess that extra fabric really makes it look deeper.

Just thought I'd put that out there for those debating between Triumph and Quest for bigger kids.

Actually, I've measured and had others measure and for 2003, 2004, and 2005, their is definitely a difference in seat depth. Maybe they have changed their design plans for 2006, that would be wonderful!

Must be the case. It didn't occur to me to ask about different years though, lol! But they were pretty firm that the seats are all 9.5 inches. Maybe the new designs will be standard.

I just emailed them again to ask about prior years. We'll see what they say.

OK, take no offense but when you guys were 16 or 17 did you think you'd be going over the specs. of strollers like you were talking about a new sports car. Now I do the same thing with power tools and my new lawn mower. When I was 17 the specs. I cared about was the pick up truck I wanted and that of Heather Locklear. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Cheers!

I wouldn't have thought so FIVE years ago. ;)

Just heard back from Maclaren. They reaffirmed that the seats were always the same size. The additional fabric gives the impression that the Quest is 1" deeper than the Triumph, but the frame measures the exact same depth.

That's the official word from Maclaren. Take it or leave it. :) I just thought I'd share the info since it is impossible to find anywhere official. Bottom line, their entire line of strollers is fantastic, so buy what works for you. :)

I just bought the Quest- I am curious if you knew anything about the height of the back of the seat? I thought the Quest was a bit higher than the Triumph when I looked at them. Another difference (not sure if it is worth the money) I think is the pocket on the hood. I got my 2005 for a similar price to the Triumph, so I am glad I went with the Quest- that pocket is great for quick trips with my keys and wallet or for a cup or bottle of water.
