Hi all. I have a question regarding Disneyworld in July. My husband ,myself and our two children (5 & 3) will be going to disneyworld July 17-July 22. This will be our first time in disneyworld. I was wondering if anyone could give us any information on the weather and crowds during the month of July. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks,

To answer your question: Hot and crowded! :teeth:

But going early to the parks and using Fastpass you still can have a great time and not be miserable the entire time you're there.

Not sure about in July but June is very hot and crowded so July is probably about the same. It is still great though you just have to drink alot and try to stay cool!

July is the hottest, most humid, miserable month in Florida. It is already in the 90's in Orlando ... take it from there.

We go every July for 2-3 weeks. Its not that bad. Yes its hot and yes it can be crowded but there are ways to deal with both. We've never had a problem dealing with the heat or crowds. If you want you can PM me and I'll give you tons of tips about what you need to bring with you and how to deal with the heat and crowds. We've been going for 13 years now ....started going when my oldest was 4...middle was 2 and my youngest was still baking :0)

We go for at least two weeks every July and we love it. What we do is hit the parks early, leave around lunch time, take a swim/nap break and then come back at night for dinner and parade/fireworks. Drinks lots of water, get a spray/fan bottle and don't try to see everything!

When are you staying in July and at what resort?

I am so glad to read this reply! We are going in July this year instead of the first of June and all I hear is how terrible July is. Well, yeah of course its hot; Its the middle of summer in Florida! But think about it - it can't be all that bad or else the CROWDS would not be there!

Just as gtuck said, Hot, Humid, crowded and sometimes rain. So don't forget to purchase the rain coats you can get them at any discount store. Also drink alot of water. Visit the parks early and if you are staying onsite return to your hotel
for lunch relax at the pool then return to the parks in the evening.ENJOY!:thumbsup2

We have gone early every July for the last 11 years because that's when we can! Yes, it is hot and humid and crowded - but, we have a great time anyway. Just remember to get to the parks early.

Embrace The Heat! (At least you don't have to wear much and you don't mind getting wet on Kali.)

We will be there July 1-10 at CBR we usually start very early with character breakfast then onto park opening 9am and stay for dinner then go to bed at 8pm. I have always thought to much time was spent traveling back and forth to your hotel fo a break.

Ditto to the heat and humidity...but we're from Georgia so we're used to it. :sunny: The best way to handle it is take advantage of EMH...lots of people disagree, but that's always what we do. We're at parks at opening and usually stay til closing, with an afternoon swim/nap thrown in. Also, spend a day outside the parks just relaxing around your resort. It will help boost your energy level for the next park day. Fastpasses, water, sunscreen, and ponchos are a musthave! Oh, and if you keep reading these boards for the next few weeks, you'll learn all the tricks on how to beat the crowds. I hear so many of my friends that complain about the crowds, but it's because they don't know how to "work the system!" ;) We love being there in July!

I almost forgot...if there's two shows of something (i.e. Spectromagic or Fantasmic), see the 2nd. You don't have to wait as long and the crowds are less!

Hot hot hot. It'll probably rain for about 20 minutes a day though. And bring mosquito repellent.

As for crowds...really look into using fastpasses for popular attractions, especially the ones with outdoor queues.

I'm doing July 1-9 at OKW.

We will be there JUly 23-29. Yes, It will be hot and humid, but we knew that. I think we will all still have a fabulous time!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, mosquito repellent. My legs get bitten up every summer.

all of our recent WDW trips have been in july. you already know it wil be crowded but it is manageable. you know it will be hot and humid so just stay hydrated. the sun will be a-blazin so put on sunscreen. take your time nothing drains you like commando style tourin in the heat of july. the afternoon breaks always helped us recharge so try it if you can. i think the bugs will be more of an issue when lounging around the resorts. i really didnt have any bug issues or did anyone in my family when in the parks but when hanging around the pool sometimes we did but not too bad

as another poster said to "embrace the heat" and i couldnt have said it better myself. when friends ask me why do i go to wdw in the heat of july i always tell them i would rather be hot and sweaty in WDW the hot and sweaty on long island

enjoy

Hi, thanks for your input. It makes me feel better about the heat and crowds. I think anywhere you go in the summer will be crowded since that is when most people vacation. We are staying at the GF. It will be our first time, we can't wait.

We always go in July. Yes it is hot. :sunny: Yes it is crowded. :grouphug: But we never seem to change our dates and go any other time. Here are a few things that we do to help with the heat.
1. Drink lots of water.
2. Go early in the morning.
3. Plan ahead. What is a MUST do while you are there?
4. Places to rest and cool off-The People Mover, The Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, The Tiki Birds,
Plan ahead and pace yourself. Hope you have a great time. :cool1:

We love to go in June, July and August. As everyone else has said about the heat and the crowds, you do have to deal with that but, you can always duck into places that are AC or go back to your resort for a dip in the pool. We go then because the parks are open later then and it gives us a chance to go back to our resort in the afternoon for a while to relax.

We have gone several years in July and at other times. I guess it is a testimony to the fact that it is still lots of fun that we continue to go back!!

Here are some of the things that we do (4 adults and 2 kids) that help us out:

Go to the park of your choice early! Many people don't show up til 10:00-10:30 or later so you can get really good rides in early with no wait and then hit the less popular ones when the lines for headliners get long.

Look into the Unofficial Guide's site to the graph that shows crowd levels, to find out which parks to hit on which days. I would also recommend the UG if you want to purchase a guide. If the time period that you will be there is VERY crowded (July 4th) it might be a good idea to have their Touring Plans at the ready. The touring plans give you detailed instructions on what attractions to hit and when.

We try and keep cool by having frozen water bottles with us, a ziploc bag with ice and washcloths to wipe our faces and the girls, misty mates (they spray a fine mist to cool you, you can fill them with ice and water), take a break when it gets hot.

Learn use and live FastPass :rotfl: We give DH our tickets as soon as we leave the turnstiles and then he runs off to get some FastPasses for all of us while we walk to get in line for something else. He joins us and rides and we try some other attraction and usually he goes and gets another FastPass before we use the first one! It makes for much shorter lines.

Make ADRs so you have some table service meals available to you. I have seen many people turned away from restaurants and VERY long waits to eat. Take a look at what parks you will be at on what day and make ADRs from that. Personally I recommend the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the GF. It is a character meal with Mary Poppins, Alice, Pooh, Tigger, etc. The food there is better than the other buffets we have been too. There are many resort restaurants that are very good, so don't restrict yourselves to park restaurants.

BTW, we will be at WDW from the sixth to the seventeenth, so if you see us, say Hi! :teeth:

The most important thing...

Have Fun!!!
