I don't mean to hijack, but may be others will benefit from this info that I am asking....i have also been considering a Carnival cruise, but I have not done any checking or planning.
Is it like Disney cruise where everything (food/drink/snacks) is paid for in advance except alcohol?
does anyone just not get off the boat? We are not real bahama-ish, so we would do limited debarking. Or is this just a waste of cash...
Is there more to do onboard for older kids and teens than the Disney cruises?

Totally different vacation from WDW. Lot's of fun lazy days and Cozumel snorkeling at Chankanaab rocks!
! DH and I have cruised before, but we've never taken the kids. We are leaving on the Conquest out of Galveston on Feb 28th
. I think a cruise might work really well for us, since it can entertain all of us at the same time (kinda like Disney!) It's hard to book vacations that make everyone happy - we have such a range of ages in our family.
