Disneyworld the week right before Christmas

Hi, newbie here. Would you recommend visiting Disneyworld the week right before Christmas, say December 17 to December 23? How are the crowds. People say the first two weeks of December the lines are short, and the week right after Christmas (Christmas to New Year), the crowds are at their largest. But what about the third week of December, the week right before Christmas? That is the time we hope to go as my kids are already out of school, but we hope to avoid the after-Christmas crowds. We did this trip in 2000. We arrived around the 17th of Dec and stayed through the 26th. Crowds were not bad until Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This year we are flying in on Dec. 17 and coming back on Dec. 23. I would love to stay through Christmas, but hubby had to be back for work.

well i went on the 22nd of dec an it was fairly busy but i dunno bout bofore then

We went the 12 thru 15 the crowds where the losest we have seen.

We've been in December quite a few times, but we always try to leave about the time most schools are getting out for Christmas - which is Dec. 16th this year. I would imagine that the 17th will be the day that the crowds will start arriving and that crowd levels will keep increasing as you get closer to Christmas. That's just based on our past experience, though.

Thanks, Pam. Sounds encouraging. What's the wait time like in lines during this week compared to Christmas week? Also, I heard that during that busy fourth week, people are turned away from the parks when they reach capacity. Does that happen in the third week of December as well?
