Im looking for cool stuff to look for or do with my grandparent when we go to disneyworld.

ive heard of the book The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World: Over 600 Secrets of the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom but its outdated.

the only one ive found is lifting up the mat at the muppet show to find the key.

does anyone have any they can share?

The Imagineering Field Guides are a good source of information about each of the parks. There are four available: The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, ...to Epcot at WDW, ...to Disney's Hollywood Studio at WDW and ...to Disney's Animal Kingdom at WDW. They're available at amazon, local bookstores and at stores in Disney World.

If you want to look for Hidden Mickeys they are endless. Steven Barrett has a website and a book that is readily available at bookstores, amazon and all over DW.

There are so many unexpected surprises and special touches like the key under the mat. A few more:
-Painting of Mr. Toad handing over the deed to Owl near the start of the Winnie the Pooh ride.
-The Disney family coat of arms on the castle.
-The spooky Mme Leota tombstone in the Haunted Mansion queue.
-Fiber optics that light up at night outside of Innoventions.
-On the walkway towards Future World West are rings of concrete discs noting historic scientific achievements.
-The miniature town and railroad in Germany.
-The Singin' in the Rain umbrella at the far end of the Streets of America in DHS.
-Flame Tree Barbecue tables and chairs represent predators (chair motifs) and prey (table motifs).
-The pieces of fabric hanging all over Asia are prayer ribbons.
-On the Kilimanjaro Safari the rock the lion sits on is air conditioned.

I have a Kindle app on my tablet and there were many Disney World guide books there for free or a couple of dollars. I found them really well researched and entertaining. While I am not a grandparent, by husband and I are almost 60 and the other couple we are going with are in their late 60"s, so I think we qualify.

I forgot all about the hidden mickey book! We really wanted to do this with my son on our last trip, but couldn't find out where to buy the book, while we were in the park. I just purchased it on Amazon for our upcoming trip in March. My 7 year old son will be thrilled!! :) Thank you for the reminder! :)
