Hello Y'all!
I don't post much as I can't bear to be on the boards until I'm planning a trip or getting ready to leave:( the last few times we've been to Disney we went in the winter months (February or March) it wasn't too hot or too cold :) anyway, my husband had to pick his vacation weeks for work and he picked June 17-24, 2004 the day after my sons birthday, the kids do not know we're going it's a big surprise. How bad is the timing as far as temp and crowds? I imagine both will be horrid but, wanted to double check.
Thanks, Maryann :)

The crowds are picking up at that time. The first two weeks have moderate crowds, by Father's Day, it is pretty busy. If you want smaller crowds, go in the first few weeks in June, if you can change your dates. We have gone in June three summers now and we really enjoy our time there at that time.

It is hot and humid. There are scattered thunderstorms in the afternoons which can cool down things a bit. Bring squeeze breezes or misty fans, take afternoon breaks for pool time to avoid the hottest time in the day.

If you go, go early when the parks open and take advantage of fast pass when needed. My philosophy is a crowded day at WDW is still better than a quiet day at work! Happy planning!

We went June 19-26 2002....

It was the most rainy vacation I've ever had. I'm not talking a thunder storm in the afternoon. I'm talking pouring down, torrential coming down sideways rain from around 1 pm through the night time. We all tried to remain positive, but quite frankly, when you are wet through and through, for 7 days straight, it's hard to have an "awesome" time.:(

The crowds were more than October, but we could handle that. The temps were not bad, due to the rain. It was humid, but not hot.

I pretty much have vowed that I will never do June again....we are trying the beginning of May in 2004. :D

This year our family trip is May 30-June 13. We normally dont go in the summer time but my bil/sil wont take their kids out of school in the slower, cooler offseason. Im hoping the crowds wont be to bad.

We don't take our kids out of school either, so we have gone in June, July and August.

We have learned to buy ponchos, swim on any sunny day if that's important to your kids, and most important take extra pairs of tennis shoes because they don't dry out in one day after walkiing around in the rain.

If the choice is go in the summer or stay home, summer it is.

Have a wonderful time.

They are not that bad; moderate crowds usually. I like visiting WDW during this time of the year. The only thing I don't like is the heat and humidity, but I am from a dry state, so the humidity is a wee bit too much for me at times! But, hey! I am at WDW, so who cares, right?

Well we are from Houston so we are quite used to it--not that we enjoy it but are used it.
