Disneyworld.com survey re; Park Reservations

Yea for Oct 1st I am very very thankful for reservations. I could see it being the same for other big days like Christmas or New Years.
If I had to choose, I would probably pick to not have them. But I definitely don't mind them at all. They don't change my planning one bit.
Reservations don't change my planning, but the 2pm park hopper start time does.

But I definitely don't mind them at all. They don't change my planning one bit.

Yeah, it wouldn't change my plans either. We usually know which park we will be in several months before our trips. But, given the choice, I'd take no reservations.

When someone asks you "do you prefer A or B," answering A also means "not B" and answering B also means "not A."
The way it is worded in the OP's screenshot, the question asks what you prefer "in advance." The first choice doesn't even mention park reservations at all, so you are still inferring that it means "no park reservations" but you cannot guarantee that's their intent. It doesn't negate doing the reservations onsite or not as far in advance. Maybe another part of the survey was more specific, but based on the screenshot that question alone does not infer intent to eliminate the reservation system. Just a preference of which to do "in advance."

"Prefer" is very common in surveys because it sounds so kind and polite. However it in no way means an absolute of keeping one and eliminating the other unless specifically written as such. If a survey reads "which ice cream do you prefer, vanilla or chocoloate?" does that mean the store will stop selling the other flavor? No, it probably means they'll adjust their supply to have more of one and less of the other in the freezer, but it doesn't mean eliminate. And it doesn't mean you can't have a scoop of both.

Option 2 is a literal description of Park Reservations. By saying you prefer option 1 over option 2, you're selecting it INSTEAD OF park reservations. They set it up as a binary choice, not a "select all that apply."

Binary choice.

You can vote for Politician 1, you can vote for Politician 2, or you can abstain. You can't say "I want both Politician 1 and Politician 2 to be president."

Option 2 is Park Pass. Option 1 is "not Park Pass."

So, I've been wracking my brain for like 30 seconds, and I can't think of an advantage to the guest where they would prefer the reservation system. I suppose on the most crowded days, it's nice to know that you can get in, but...

The only advantage would be if Disney published the number of people visiting the parks, and guests had that information to help plan out their days based on the crowd. But that's not really that useful unless you plan to tour parks differently based on the crowd. Regardless, the reservation system is not supposed to be for the benefit of guests - it's for Disney to know in advance about the crowds and plan accordingly for staffing purposes.

Basically already did this exact thing between dining reservations and FP+ selections anyway - we knew where we were planning to be and so did Disney. It's really just an extra mouse click.
