I just have to share the amazing service I received from Disneystore.com :goodvibes I posted a while ago about ordering a Disney Princess dress from them, anyway to cut a long story short I finally placed the order late on Sunday night (the dress was reduced) and it arrived yesterday with no customs bill  The dress is absolutely amazing, it was packed so carefully and I can't believe it arrived so soon ... just fab :goodvibes

How much can you order (money) without getting a customs hill.
I have found a fab stitch i want on the Disneystore.com site and with shipping it works out just under $13. Would i pay anything on that?

http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_ This site says you may have to pay Customs on goods worth £7 or more but you wouldn't have to pay Import VAT. It all depends on whether the package gets pulled when it arrives in the UK as its random.

I've got to say I was expecting a customs bill so I was thrilled not to get one :cool1: Just wondering what I can order next ;)

I've been thinking about ordering some of the kids clothing on the site, they have a lovely Woody and Buzz shirt for twin one DS.

I'll have to see whether I get a customs bill or not.

customs got me the last time I ordered from them

it wasn't much but it still took the good out of the stuff

usual I get anything shipped to the hotel now when we are over there

I've just had a look at this and wanted to buy the cinderella snowglobes as presents for the bridesmaids as i have a cinderella themed wedding in September and although the shipping came up as $7.95 when i got to the last page it came up as $40.00 so i have left it, the globes were only $14.50. I am gutted, will have to get the tinkerbell ones from over here instead:headache:

What is the average postage costs - I tried to order some Club Penguin stuff and it said shipping charges were $49 !!!!

Yep same here :sad2: It gave me an estimated shipping amount of just under $5 but when i went through the booking process it changed to $49.
It was only a $7.99 Stitich i wanted (got to have) as well.

Haven't ordered from them for a couple of years but used to pay $30 - $35 shipping. The customs bill used to arrive in the post a week or so later from DHL but I believe they have switched to UPS now so the procedure may have changed.

My friend was going to send me a new freezer mug last September as mine had cracked, but Disney had changed their shipping to anything over $9.99 was $15! The mug was only $11!

Glad that you got good service though, it certainley makes all the difference doesn't it! :)

Great service :) which dress did you get in the end?

We ended up with the Cinderella one and it is just beautiful, very pretty and I love the ballerina length. I am very tempted to order another and put it away. I just need to book a holiday so dd can wear them in the right setting :goodvibes

Just out of interest did you pay $49 postage?

I don't think it was that much but I'll check the invoice. The dress I ordered was also available bnwt on ebay from an international seller but the postage from disney.com was cheaper. I shall check the invoice and let you know, $49 is quite a lot considering the exchange rate isn't as good as it was.
