I tried using our discount code tonight and the computer wouldn't take it. I read the restrictions and I was in the clear. When I called customer service, the lady on the other end had to ask what DVC was!!! When I explained, she put me on hold to ask her supervisor. When she got back on the phone, she informed me that DVC discounts were only available in the parks. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I finally got to him and he didn't know about the discount either. I gave him the code and he said they didn't have record of it. He did eventually agree to give me 10% off my order, but it bugged me that I had to ask for it.

Has anyone else had this experience?

There were quite a few posts a couple of weeks ago about this strange problem. The discount is advertised on the DVC site yet it seems everyone has problems trying to use this. Understanding Disney is a mega company you would think they would get it together on this issue. Not very Magical!

It seems like there invariably better discounts available to anyone, but if you do a google search on disneyshopping.com coupon, you will see all sorts of offers pop up.

There's currently an offer for $20 off and $80 purchase, which I tried to use. The items I bought were in the Outlet section and the current promotion excludes anything in the Outlet. Eventhough it's only 10%, it's better than nothing.

I put my order through online and the code worked fine. However I received 15% off for using my Disney Visa so I used that option instead.

I used the DVC discount code with no problems last week. In fact, I was also buying a kids' bathing suit and there was a separate code for $3 off the suit. When I put in the DVC code, it took 10% off all of my items, even the swimsuit. I thought the swimsuit would be excluded due to the $3 off code. I hope that they've fixed whatever the problem was and that the DVC code will work easily for everyone from now on.

I beleive they have been changing the DVC code every month. Is it possible you have the wrong code for this month? Just a thought! :confused3

I've always been able to find a better discount code online than the DVC discount.

DW has recently sworn off Disneyshopping.com. :sad1:

We had done so much shopping there that we were "Preferred" members.. Somehow they had lost records of all of the stuff she has purchased over the last several months, and when she went to get the free S&H, they told her she hasn't purchased enough to maintain the discount.

DW pulled out all of the receipts from ALL of the orders she's purchased in the last few months, but they seemed unphased... :surfweb:

I remember that a few months ago someone said they were outsourcing the call center somewhere... (I'm not sure if it was going offshore or not.) Maybe they had some computer glitches along the way..

IMO, their retail business is going down the tubes...

We can still get our Disney branded merchandaise, but we are just going to have to go to Wal-Mart and K-Mart to do it...
