Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

page 571-574

I am so happy to report that I will be staying at the Beach Club- standard room- for the very first time- April 27-May 1, for a Girls' Getaway Weekend! Super excited for my first Deluxe experience! This thread has been so helpful!

One question- what is the latest reservation available at Cape May Cafe? The flight I'm looking at doesn't land until 8 pm, though I'm trying hard to find one that lands at least an hour earlier. I really want to maximize my table credits, and my other meals are already taken care of, but my group will be at AK that night, and I won't make it on time... Beaches and Cream is my other option, as they are open later, but not as good a use of a credit.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Are you using Magical Express to get to the resort from the airport? You should probably count on 90 minutes from wheels down to arrival, so 9:30 would be about the earliest you should make a reservation.

Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club may be open and taking reservations until 9:30. You mentioned Beaches & Cream as well. Crews Cup lounge at the Yacht Club has excellent food, is open late (until midnight, I believe) but I don't think they take the dining plan. :(

Sorry my edit has updated this for you, my brain has become mush since being off work recovering from surgery ( I'm a high risk for pulmonary embolism apparently it's managed with medication and less stress). I hope this made things clearer.

Sending best wishes for your recovery!

Hi! We're looking at the BC for a trip in early June next year. I'm slowly making my way through the entire thread but wanted to go ahead and ask about strategies for families of five. My husband and I have a boy who will be 9 and two teenage girls who will be 17 & 18. We're considering renting DVC points and going for a two bedroom unit but probably won't have the money to pay for it in time since we're mostly paying for the trip with a late winter bonus. Is there any real chance of a two bedroom unit being available for rent on points in mid March? Also has someone posted any pictures of the refurbished two bedrooms yet? I'm assuming they're very similar in design to the refurbished one bedrooms but it'd be grand to see pictures. We may be able to shell out for two normal rooms should the whole DVC thing not work out but how horribly cramped would we be putting all five of us in one room? We stayed in an AoA suite on our last trip (in '13) and I loved it but the girls want to be close to Epcot this time.

Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll pencil you in for June.

To further confuse the situation, and add to your expense, there are Club Level deluxe rooms that offer a little more space than the regular rooms. Still just one bathroom though and they are not located on the 5th floor where the concierge lounge is located. More info on these rooms in Post 12 on Page 1.

Dee, would you be able to edit my BC stay in the Be Our Guest please?

We are now.... BC CL, Dec 30-Jan 8 party:

We're still doing the cruise beforehand, but DH and I got talking and decided that during a peak holiday stretch we'd rather do a long stay at BC than go off to the unknown at Universal. At BC, if the parks are too crowded we will be more than content to hang out at Stormalong Bay and graze off the club level offerings instead. At Universal, we'd feel obligated to fight the crowds and see everything since we haven't been in probably 15 years or so. Although, I don't know if it'll be too busy, since I was easily able to shuffle ADRs and even move stuff like Be Our Guest and Ohana to different nights. Maybe it won't be too crowded, but either way we both agreed that BC is where we'd rather spend our anniversary.

Will do!

We are beyond excited to be staying at Yacht Club for the first time July 15 to July 18 (yes that is in 3 days!!!) before moving over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were trying to add a couple of days with our discount but nothing available until today and it was HERE! pixiedust: Any tips from past visitors would be greatly appreciated. WHOO HOOO!

We are staying at BC the end of August for 10 nights. We plan on going to blizzard beach 1 day. We will not have a rental car at that time. Has anyone ever taken a taxi or uber to blizzard beach from the BC? From maps, it looks like blizzard beach is very close to the BC. Is that true?

Good plan. I have taken a taxi from BC to TL, it was around $15 plus tip, that was back in 2010.

The Beach Club resort room map is awesome! Great score. Quick question. We have the magical deal and thus a standard room at BC in August. We have never stayed at BC, only YC many times but are excited for the refurbed room. Has anyone ever stayed in the rooms on the second floor overtop of the front entrance/valet. I know at YC they are shared balcony rooms, but wondering if they are large balconies at BC or not. On the map they are side ways (four of them) so they may be shared balconies like YC but I can't tell for sure. It is a standard view and that's what we can only get with our deal. The room numbers are 2672-2664-2662-2654- and then 2652-2650-2648. They seem easy enough to get to lobby (hoping for) and standard view. We have multiple rooms in our family and do always hope to be near each other for convenience of the elders and babies. Would try to request these rooms but can't figure out if they are full balconies or not. Thanks! Best thread here and thanks Dee for all your hard work!

Confirmed with a CM- no shared balconies at the BC.

Bus Stop(s) Construction and Relocation

Just saw a report that starting July 11th there will be concrete construction near the Yacht Club bus stop lasting about 3 weeks. During that time, the YC bus stop will be at the convention center's porte cochere.

Any idea how long the bus stops will be relocated to the convention center for both resorts?

http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/disneys-yacht-and-beach-club-temporarily-move-bus-stops/

I don't have any info beyond what is posted here. I'll try to find out.

IF the Beach Club stop is disrupted, the Convention Center is not a convenient relocation spot.

:headache:

How long will the bus stop be at the convention center be for?
The work is scheduled to last about three weeks. During that time, the buses will enter through the front entrance of the resort.

Within the last year, the front drive at the YC was being worked on, and the bus stop was moved over to the Convention Center, during that time period. It was an easy 5 minute walk out the front entrance of the YC to the temporary bus stop.

BTW, only the YC appears to be impacted - not the BC.

First, I'd make an appeal to WDW ticketing for a refund or transfer of the ticket into new guest's name. They may accommodate and then you can give first girl back all the $ and charge the replacement girl just her park ticket cost
I had to change guests on a reservation 5 days before we travelled once and Disney was a able to transfer the resort reservation and tickets to the new members of my traveling party at no cost.

Good morning folks, I have a question I'm hoping someone has had some experience with. I have a trip booked at the BC and hoping for the next group of discounts to be released soon. Seems the first half of my trip is sold out at the resort with the second half still available for booking. If the second half of my trip is available for the discount will Disney modify the days available or will I have to drop those days and make another reservation now having a split stay? Hope this isn't confusing. The wonderful people on this thread are so knowledgeable on everything Disney.

That's what I was hoping, just YC at this time. I have someone literally walking over to BC right now to check on the bus stop.

Let me see if I understand correctly. You already have a trip booked at BC without a discount. There is a discount offered for the 1st half of your booked trip, but there are no rooms available under the discount. You are hoping that when the new round of discounts come out there will be some rooms available at BC under that discount.

If everything above is correct and there are rooms available at BC under the new discount for the 2nd half of you trip then yes, you will need to book 2 reservations. One for the 1st half of you trip in a non discounted room and another reservation for the 2nd half of your trip using the newly released discount.

Thank you for all the information in those posts! I especially love you've included how to create a ticker using the updated forums. I'd do that if I wasn't so lazy AND I wasn't leaving in 2 days!! Again, thank you for the time you put in updating all this!! :thanks:

I didn't not realize how many food options are here and 7 take Tables in Wonderland  Ale and Compass opening at 6 am is perfect for one of us to wander down for morning coffee! You'd think planning last minute trips would make the time go faster but I think the next 2 days will be like :snail:

I have one question though: Looking at the activities on the July sheet, it looks like there is something going on at the pool from 1 pm until 7 pm? Is that right or am I just lumping a lot of stuff together. That seems like a LONG time! Thanks for any clarification on this. We plan on spending as much of the day at the pool as possible....unless someone is shouting through a megaphone!!

Back to packing (which includes constantly removing Kitty from the bags who thinks he should be going too!) Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Thank you for your quick response dansdad. The first half of my trip the BC is sold out completely, no rooms what so ever. The second half has non discounted rooms available (discount not released yet). I have no problem doing a split stay, do you know whether I will be allowed to drop the days off my second half? I don't want to loose my days on the first half even if it's rack rate.

If you end up doing two separate reservations make sure Disney links them as a continuing reservation. The chances of you having to change rooms should be slim but having them linked will increase your chances to stay in the same room. I'd also try and stick with the same category for both reservations..that will increase your chances of remaining in the same room as well!
