Dee - safe trip!

Scary day for us. Ds was pitching and got hit in the head with a line drive. Spent all afternoon in ER.
He has a concussion, so no sports, no exams, not much of anything for the next few weeks, but it could
have been a lot worse.
Glad he's okay! Very scary, tell him to hang in there he needs to rest his brain (you can tell him that your BC nurse friend said so ;) )

I don't know if this will make enough difference for you or not but here's something to consider... Before we started staying CL (years ago), we did the DDP. Then we discovered the signature restaurants and upped it to deluxe DDP. However, with CL, you no longer need all those appetizers, snacks, desserts, soda, or even wine/beer. In fact, it's so much food, sometimes you barely even want dinner! In fact, the biggest mistake we ever made was having the deluxe DDP with CL. I thought we were going to explode - lol! As many have said before, CL doesn't work for everyone....like if you want a full breakfast every morning, etc. But for us, it's great because DH and I have a place to hang out while the DDs are sleeping. And I think we usually end up spending about $150 on average for the signatures (Chef Mickey's and GG will cost you more than that and they're not signatures). DD11 was allowed to order from the kids menu at both Cali Grill and Narcoossee's last week...although I don't know how long that will last. You can't forget to include a food budget in the cost if you don't have DDP, but you might see if that would get it closer to the same as a regular room with deluxe DDP. I think it might. By the way, the room we stayed in last year is now in the CL lounge. Funny that it was my favorite spot to hang out in:)View attachment 101473

Thanks, Dispro1....I'll run the numbers again....you may be right...especially with the Food & Wine thing going on next door...... :)

This is helpful to know. I think I am still going to upgrade to DDxP though for our September trip, even though we are staying at BC CL. We mainly got Club Level because we are taking my twin grandkids (age 2) and figured we could hang out in the CL while they try to get to sleep. Naps if they will do it there and also at night. My DD and her DH will share the room with them and we will hopefully be in a connecting room (or at least nearby). Since they aren't on a meal plan, we thought we could use appetizers and such to help feed them if there is nothing on the kids meals that interests them. Also plan to do more than one TS a day since it is their first trip there and we want to do several character meals. I KNOW we won't eat 3 TS meals a day and maybe only 2 most of the time, but with DDP already figured into our reservation (free in September this year during our trip), when I upgrade, I will feel like I am getting a "good deal" haha! I will definitely be paying for convenience if I decide to do it though.

Teena, hope you can post some pictures of your cruise. I love traveling vicarously through your vacations on the Disney cruise line. Can't wait until we can do it again.

Luckily all he wants to do is sleep!

Thursday is our last park day. My group will be starting at Animal Kingdom in the morning, hopping over to HS around lunchtime (FP for ToT, RnR, Star Tours), resort break at ASMo and then we plan to hit MK until 1 am.

Hope to see you around!

:woohoo:
We arrive about 8:00 PM Thursday and will be heading to the MK. Hope to close it at 1 AM too!

I look for you!

Got it. I'm going to indicate your stay is at the villas- correct me if I am wrong.

:cool1:

Yep, we're staying at the villas. Thank you so much for adding us to the Be Our Guest list! :goodvibes

Safe travels and have a wonderful trip! :wizard:

Ok, so our plan for this year is to go completely rogue. Tell me we're not crazy...

We always spend our trips running, running, running, on an agenda. We had a tough year and just need some time together. It's just my husband and me...haven't been blessed with kiddos yet. Our plan (and the main reason we chose BC) is to chill! We have been blessed to have been to WDW almost every year since 2007, so we're not worried about seeing it all. Last year we also dealt with horrible heat and humidity and both just felt sick the whole time. So...our plan is to stay at the resort and swim, relax, etc...all day until probably 5:00 or 6:00 and then only go to the parks at night. Now, I know this will need some tweaking (especially for our AK day,) but I'm sort of excited about going to WDW and RELAXING :yay:

I think that's a great starting point. Early mornings are fun in the parks too. Go with the flow and be open to whatever you feel like doing. I hope it works great for you!!!

That makes sense, particularly with character meals since they can be $200 but only take one TS credit...unless they've changed that. We were very disappointed to learn that they are no longer including pictures with your dinner at Akershus and supposedly at Royal Table too! However, we complained and they gave us a voucher to get the picture at no cost. You'd think that increasing prices would be enough for Disney, but nope...they have to take away the benefits too! We've been going to Akershus since DD11 was 3, so that was one of the only character meals we still do, but I'm not sure we'll go back now.

Yes, definitely still thinking it through :-) We have done the early, mid day break, back at night thing. It works ok for us, but I'm a teacher and I get up at 5am 10 months of the year, so having to get up early on vacation has never been my favorite. We are also night people. Staying at the MK until midnight (closing) is normal for us, but piggybacked to having to get up early the next day doesn't work well.

Sounds like a fantastic plan to me:) the only thing I wish we had done differently was spend more time at SAB! But part of that was just due to rainy weather that we couldn't control. I do think if we had gone to the pool first at least some days it would have been better since it rained in the afternoon mostly. We did that our last day and it was our best day the whole trip!
But the weather was gorgeous all day that day and I've still got some sunburn to prove it:)

Yikes! Sorry to hear this. You are right, it could have been worse, but it must still be hard to go through. Hope is is back to normal as soon as possible.
