Question for the experts:

During our trip, my daughter's college soccer team will be playing a game in Lakeland, FL. It's a great chance to see her play, so we wanted to rent a car and drive out to her game that evening, then return it that night or the next morning. Is this even possible? How should be go about getting to the nearest rental place? Any tips?

Like everyone said, walk to the Dolphin. You can actually rent online ahead of time so when you get over there all you'll have to do is pick it up. The guy that's always working, I should know his name dang it, he is super nice and really helpful. He even lets my son choose which car we want from what he's got available.

Sounds like a great thing to do. Yes, you can rent a car from National at the Dolphin. Very convenient. When my in-laws were in Tampa, we would fly into Tampa, visit with them for a few days and then drive to Disney and return the car to the Dolphin. It is an easy walk to the YC/BC. Check out Nationals website. There is also rental car companies at the Car Care Center near the MK.

Here's another deep dark(side) secret, in addition to the fact that I have not had a meal or ice cream at Beaches & Cream.

I have never seen or stepped foot in Fittings & Fairings

I keep forgetting it is there and the only time I have been in the YC lobby is for meals at Captain's Grille. I will attempt to correct both of these oversights on my trip in August!

Quite surprised by this. We have taken buses from parks to get ice cream at Beaches & Cream and soak up the atmosphere even though we were not staying there.

View attachment 101175 We are in room 5652! It's perfect. Just tried out the lounge and it's incredible. Been here 1 hour and it's already our favorite resort! Beaches and cream in 30 mins!!

What a wonderful view! I keep thinking if I could just convince my husband to try BC he'd love it. But he's a diehard AKV/AKL fan. Maybe someday we can take an anniversary trip and try different resorts. For now, I get my BC/YC fix when traveling without him. And I realize how lucky I am to be able to do that. Not traveling without him, but being able to travel to WDW more often.

Got to meet @TeenaS today!! So nice- love the stories! Can't wait to hear more about your trip when you get back. And talked with the MIL - she has seen all the pictures of Beach club and trip is coming- not sure if in 2016 or 2017 though (she has to sell their houses first (hers and a rental) so they can downsize and travel. A bit easier to leave knowing I WILL be back (someday). Plan to hang around and live vicariously through everyone's reports/trips.

Thanks to all the wonderful people here with such helpful information. The bartender (Tom) knew how to make a Sunken Treasure. So very good!

So scary!!! Glad he's okay. My son is a rookie in the little league majors this year and he's bummed he hasn't had a chance to pitch yet. I'm thrilled because of what you just described. It's one of my biggest fears in baseball!

I am so sorry about this!!! That is very scary. We have seen more concussions this past year in soccer than we have in all the 15 years we have been a part of it. I never realized how dangerous they were until now!

I am so sorry to hear about your son's injury, but I'm glad it was not more serious. Hope you are able to take it easy for the next few days after that scare!!
