Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Yes changes are coming to the YC in 2025 as Disney states: From January through May 2025, some Guest rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be under refurbishment. While Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, most Resort hotel amenities will remain available ( Except Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool ).

Note: From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, checked into the Beach Club yesterday and so far we are having a wonderful time here. I booked Water View and have a room with a full balcony overlooking Crescent lake and the Boardwalk. There aren’t many things in life that make me happier than sitting out there, especially now in the early morning, enjoying my coffee. I know most of you on this thread get it 😊
SAB was very busy when we got there about noon. We really had to search for chairs, but eventually found two after stalking some people who were leaving. Lots and lots of towels on many of them. We are having a resort day and plan to spend a lot of time at the pool so I will report back on the situation at opening. We have been coming here for years and I honestly can’t remember having to rope drop SAB!
Let me know if anyone needs information or photos of anything.

Hi everyone! My family are going to be at the YC for our first time this September. We have never stayed, it's been a bucket list item for us and we decided to make it happen as we are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary!

I am looking for some logistical advice. We ended up adding on a day at the beginning of the trip at the WDW Dolphin. So we arrive Sat, check in for our night there and our stay at YC starts Sunday. We will obviously have a gap between check out at the Dolphin and check in at YC. We will have our car, but wandering what you guys would do with luggage, etc in between when we don't have a room? We have park tickets that we could use that day as well, but feeling like we might just want to make it a resort/ transfer day and take it easy.

we are doing something similar and then checking in to Beach club the next day. Our plan when we leave GF is to pack a pool bag, take our luggage over to the beach club drop the luggage off at Bell services and spend the day at SAB until the room is ready.

Thanks! So we can use SAB at any point the day of before our room is ready?

We are arriving 10/3 and leaving 10/4 for the next park of the trip at the AKL. 10/3 will be a pool day and resort hop. On 10/4 the plan is checkout at 11am and swim at SAB until our room in ready at the AKL. I read that we can have our bags sent over to the AKL by bell services.

Yes, WDW resorts will transfer your luggage to the next resort. I’m not sure if they have a cut off time you need to get it to them, we usually have it there before 9 as we head to a park. Be aware they it will arrive at the next resort between 1 & 5 PM. So keep anything you need before 5 pm with you in a backpack or bag. You can have bell services hold that bag if you don’t want it with you at the pool & just retrieve it when you need something. If you’re planning to take a ride share or Minnie van to AKL, you can just have bell services hold the luggage & take it with you when you go.

The Dolphin and YC are literally right next to each other. Some YC rooms are even closer to the Dolphin than to the YC lobby when you use the fire exit. Just take your stuff to YC and leave it at Bell Services there until your room is ready.

I will be staying at Beach Club Villas. A local family member will be driving in one day to have lunch with me.

Will she have a hard time getting past the guard at the gate?

Should I add her to my reservation? I am under the per person capacity for my villa so I can do that if it makes sense.

We will not be using the pools, so that's not an issue.

If it doesn't hurt to put her on the room reservation, that's probably easiest. If your lunch is an ADR that she's on with you, that should be fine, as well. If you're just doing a counter service, it could be more challenging - but as long as she has your name on an actual reservation, she's probably OK. I'd probably add her to the room, then no issues.

Do you think that the Stormalong Bay refurbishment will affect Room Categories from Jan to May/June? I would hate to book Water View and be stuck looking at a pool refurb all week.

Affect them how? They might offer more WV rooms with any discount, but not sure there will be anything else. There is also announced room refurbishment at YC at the same time. Probably not be the best time to stay at Y & B if you don’t want to deal with construction. YC is our favorite resort, but we might stay somewhere else next year, depending on when we decide to go.

I guess what I am asking is will a view that would normally be considered to be water view be switched to a resort view category if it is facing stormalong bay? I thought the YC refurb was soft goods ...or did I get that wrong? It is hard to keep up LOL
