We will be at YC from August 13-21.

Every time a resort is refurbished, they take away more Disney touches. I think we all have to get used to it. They already started tearing out some of the Poly buildings to put up a DVC tower. I think someday AKL, the All Star resorts, and Art of Animation might be the only ones left with a lot of special theming.

Is it that hard to just put a Disney themed runner on a bed instead of those hospital looking white sheets?

I agree, we need a seriously innovated themed hotel Ala AKL and Wilderness

I read somewhere when the runners first started to be phased out that it was for two reasons, sanitary issues and theft.

As a frequent Poly and CR guest which both have recent rooms renovations that are Disney IP on steroids (in my opinion), I love coming to a place like YC or BC for the plain simplicity of the room design. Some light Disney accents and touches, but it's not in-your-face Disney - which I like. Very subjective of course, YMMV!

Yes that makes sense. The Moana rooms are very Disney to me. The new GF rooms are pretty Disney to Me. So for a deluxe, yeah that makes sense.

I just wish they had a little more POP to them.. Like a nicer designed headboard, or maybe Micky and Minnie hanging on a beach lol behind the bed in a nice picture

Hard? No. Does it cost money which doesn't need to be spent in order to fill the hotel? Yes.

This is the Cheapak regime. I don't expect to see changes which will cost money that could be saved.

All Beach Club Villas have a full-size balcony [patio]. Standard and smallest size balcony accommodates 2 chairs and a small table. Some villas including the studios have larger than standard balconies, which are sporadic in nature.

I think I am going to try it... Never stayed at a Epcot resort. No kids, was choosing between beach and Boardwalk.. I think I am going to give the beach club a chance =] I wish they had better room views but I gotta try the pool at least once

I also have a question: Are the pool cabanas only renting out for a full day, or can you still do half a day? And what is the current price?

We have a trip coming up in September for our anniversary. I had room reservations but wasn’t happy with them so never posted. We really prefer YC over BC. YC wasn’t available for our dates with either of the discounts but BC was. But YC CL was available today for 4 of our 7 nights with the new AP discount. I was thrilled & grabbed it quick. So now we’re at YC CL September 5-12.


But I’ve got to tell you, we’ve been staying at YC since the late 90’s. I miss the old days, 15 -20 years ago. Back then, everybody wanted to stay at Beach Club. So many comments about YC being too “stuffy”, too quiet, too dark. It was like a hidden treasure, a secret only a few knew about. It was so easy to get our favorite resort and a good discount any time of year. I’m a little sad when I read all the “it’s our new favorite resort” posts. So from now on everyone….. Shhhh. The first rule for YC is…… We Don’t Talk About YC.

Just booked our trip for a stay at BC for the first time since 2016!

I really wanna try the beach club or boardwalk, I just worry it might feel plain considering the other resorts I have stayed. Sigh. Decisions Decisions. Also reminds me of NJ, where I have been many times lol

Sorry, I don't know about the cabanas, but I haven't seen anyone announce that they are available for 1/2 days again.
