Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We got a garden/woods view. As you can see, it was more woods than garden. We had a full balcony, but the view was kinda disappointing
We had room 3126, which was one floor below and one room over from the room you were in, 4128. It was a disappointing view but at least it was quiet and private. Many of the Beach Club woods view rooms have a similar view.

If we check in online is there no chance of getting any type of upgrade ?
Do you mean a paid upgrade or a ‘pixie dust’ upgrade? For a paid upgrade you can modify your reservation online or visit the front desk upon arrival and ask if any are available. I have been able to select a better view with a room discount for a few dollars more. I always check back a few weeks out and can sometimes find discounted views that weren’t previously available.
If you mean a ‘pixie dust’ upgrade that can still happen with online check in. In fact, all of my view upgrades have been when using online check in. I got ‘water view’ at YC, ‘pool/garden view’ at BWI and ‘water view’ at POFQ all when booking standard and doing online check in.

Been there, done that, share your pain. Sometimes we have to take rooms like these so that others can post about the great upgrades and great views that they get. It's been two years, but I will be giving them one more shot in December. Having stayed in wonderful rooms there at the YC/BC in the past I'm hoping I don't get a repeat performance like this again.

I know what you mean Katesdad :rotfl2:The one other time we stayed there, we had a water view. Guess there has to always be a counterbalance :upsidedow

That is true, and like I said upthread, it was minor in the scheme of things. The room itself was great, and the showers...well I'm sorry to be back to mine :rotfl:

I am back from my quick getaway with my friend, Linda. We had 2 nights at Caribbean Beach and 1 night at the Poly. It was a great distraction for us.

We got together with Teena and another friend for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, and I saw a couple of other people I knew in the parks.

We ended up having lunch at Ale & Compass when we made the rookie mistake of trying to park hop from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT at 12:30, too early based on the new rules.

I'm going to try to go forward and keep up with the thread from Page 1910 on.

If you happen to notice anything on Page 1 that needs to be updated or changes based on new information, let me know. I can't remember if I have updated about the Yachtsman restaurant or Beaches & Cream takeout window opening, so I'll check those out.

Yacht Club Question:
We are going Aug 19 (arrive at midnight) through the 23rd. I have a cabana at Stormalong Bay reserved. The only way we could get it was for the full day from 10am - 7pm. However, there are only 2 of us ... and we are pretty sure we will not spend all day there. The debate is now whether to cancel the cabana or keep it. The price was $299 plus tax and then there will be a tip. We are thinking grabbing a chair at the pool might not be too terrible for a Friday mid day. And, we have Boo Bash tickets for 7pm on that date. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:goodvibes

Us! We'll be at BC Sept 4-10! :)

Just made a December 6-16th 2022 reservation at Yacht Club CL WV with Dreams. As soon as CL opens, she will secure the request. Put me on the list!!! Hoping the pandemic will subside by then.

I'll add you!

:woohoo:

Anyone here now? I have a bunch of water I would like to give away tomorrow morning when we leave.

I know you have come and gone already, but wanted to :welcome: you to posting on the thread.

Thanks for your generous offer.

Dee it was really nice to see your smiling face again. Teena, it was really great to see you again. Glad you all were able to hook up and visit. Dee, glad you made it home for a brief visit on this short trip.

Headed back to BC 8/3-8/4 for a super quick visit. Headed from Atlanta to Naples for a cross-Florida bike ride, and my teammate has never been to a Disney park. Couldn’t miss the chance. I’m so excited to return to my role as WDW Drill Sergeant! That guy thinks the BIKE RIDE is going to be the hard part!!

Reading these recent bus reports has me nervous, especially with a lot to see in one day. So I pose a couple questions, BC family:

1) For AK rope drop, should I bother waiting for a bus, or just commit to an Uber? Not worried about the price - very worried about spending all morning queued up at FoP!

2) Trying to plan a late night dinner, ideally at B&C or A&C. Can always hit the lounge.
If we end the night at HEA, roughly what time should we plan to be back at BC?

CANNOT WAIT TO BE BACK IN THE WORLD!!!

:welcome: to the thread!

Hope your trip to Disney, and your cross-florida bike ride both went well.

Hi! Long time disney traveler but first time staying at yacht and beach. We usually stay at the Polynesian as of recently but couldn’t get a room there. We booked at beach club at first and now switched to yacht club only because of the bathroom setup (the door the separates the sinks from the rest of the room). We wash the kids cups and stuff like that and prepare things for the next day in there while they sleep. But the more I’m reading people are saying that yacht club isn’t as kid friendly. We wanted to be closer to Epcot too.

so questions really are should we switch back to beach club ? Are the rooms not as updated or nice? Is yacht club not as kid friendly? We have a 1 and 4 year old. We love the idea of a balcony too. We like being close to food and easy access to get where we are going quickly.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

As others have stated, the reputation of YC as not "kid-friendly" is not deserved. The lobby may be quieter than the Beach Club lobby, but guests of all ages should feel comfortable at both resorts. The practically guaranteed full balcony at the YC is a great perk.

hi everyone. originally booked dolphin for our end of august trip but just found a deal on yacht club i think is too hard to pass up on priceline.

question for you all. it is a water view room i am booking, and its me, DW, and DS2. i know there are several different room types and the only one that could be an issue is the room with a single king. do you know if i am able to get a rollaway bed if that is the one we end up with? i am going to put in a request but i know there are no guarantees so wanted to check about a rollaway.

thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

If you end up with one of the rare rooms with a king bed, you can request a rollaway, or you can go to the front desk and ask if there is another room available with two beds.

:thumbsup2

People who have had Amazon ship to the hotel, any advice? The customer service line told me to put my name, checkin date, and reservation number on the front of the pacakge. How can I have Amazon do that? Amazon has told me they can't put my name, reservation, and checkin date on the address label. They are telling me to add that information to the "delivery instructions." The delivery instructions are only for Amazon drivers though, not for the hotel. Any advice?

:welcome:

When is your trip?

Is checking luggage in the morning pretty easy & quick? Or do you run into long lines?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

No issues with lines using bell services to store luggage.

Just want to make sure that you are not referring to RAC (Resort Airline Checkin) since Disney is no longer offering this service to send your luggage directly to the airport when you are using Magical Express upon departure.

:cool2:

We are officially booked at the Yacht Club for December 26, 2022 - January 2, 2023! Super excited to be staying at this resort again.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

If you’re still looking to get rid of this, I am here and would love to take what you’re not using!! :)

:welcome: to posting on this thread!

last week SAB was busy, but not extremely so. Kind of like end of summer crowds in the before times during the week.

We found chairs immediately, and I was down the slide and cooling off five minutes later. Food anywhere around the pool takes a minute.

Minimal lines - the only delay was a VERY tiny young lady who looked like she was going to bail at the top of the slide. After much hand wringing (as much as a 4 year old wrings) and at her darkest hour, she snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and jumped down the slide. Full send.

Glad to see you got to spend time with the wonderful Teena!

Can you add us to the list for Dec 3-15, 2022 (next year) at the YC water view and CL (when it becomes available).

Missed Disney last year and this year. Definitely want to be there during the 50th celebration!

Glad to see you back, Dee! We just returned home from our trip yesterday and had an awesome time! We were at the Poly from Aug 9-14, so we were there at the same time I guess. I wish I would’ve seen you!

We enjoyed our stay at the BC from August 1st-9th. I had requested a room facing the volleyball court, which we got, but it didn’t have a full balcony. Upon arrival, I went to the lobby to see if we could switch to a room with a full balcony, which they did for us. Our room was on the fourth floor and overlooked the front courtyard area. I loved the room and location, but hated the blinds; they let in way too much light.

Mousekeeping did not change our towels or empty our trash every other day. I had to call to request these services, although they did change our sheets on day five, which was a nice surprise!

I think I posted this up thread, but I did receive some birthday goodies in the room, which was totally unexpected but so nice! Sorry the pics are sideways!

For anyone who knows, or can check, does Stormalong Bay have any clocks visible? I don't want to bring my phone, don't wear a watch, but would like to keep an eye on the time while I'm there. Thanks!

Hi Dee: Glad to have you back, helping us along with our stays and giving us advice. Can you add us to the be our guess list for YC WV and CL when available December 6 to 16th 2022. Praying things are better for all of us

Can someone tell me if they have the iced tea and hot chocolate machines as well as soft drinks for the refillable mugs? Trying to see if we will buy them again this time, but I don’t drink soft drinks, just tea and coffee. I usually only buy if they have the tea machine.
