Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Your room looks like a standard view, not garden view. But the distance to the elevators is very convenient. :)

Thanks for posting the pictures. :) We will be arriving to Yacht Club on Sunday and we hope the Christmas decorations will still be up.
....our reservation stated "Garden View" [ :confused3 ] ....personally, we weren't in the room long enough to enjoy any views, so it wasn't really an issue.

....we did a split stay [the first few days we were in a 2BR lock-off at the BCV] and we were mere steps from the quiet pool. It was fantastic.

See the 'Yacht Club Room View' thread. There is a room category map posted. I think that the quiet pool would be under the GV category. The 'water views' would be lagoon, lake or marina view. the thread does mention a 'pool view' but I would guess that is SAB and includes lagoon views.

If I was paying $110 per night to look at the quiet pool I would not be happy :wizard:

Just to update this- I booked a GV room for my family at YC and they received a second floor, quiet pool room view. They liked the location, room # 2074

We stayed in room #2093, also a GV room, in 2018. Our room overlooked the gazebo and we had a side view of Crescent Lake. We loved this location because it was close to the lobby and we could take the stairs from the lobby and avoid using the elevators.

I requested a similar location but did not get it :(

We have had a room that just overlooked the wedding gazebo and I liked that as well. It was very nice in the evening when the sun was coming into the room. (January trip)

We had YC booked last summer and had to change resorts due to the mess. I was sad and avoided this thread for a bit. Also, my memory is not what it used to be. Since we have a new YC stay booked for next summer (hooray!), I am. trying to get back up to date. All that said. . .

Please forgive me for asking a question that has probably been posted over and over. When was the YC lobby refreshed? The pictures posted above are great and the lobby looks different than what I remember from my last stay.

Thanks to all who updated about the BC Marketplace changing. That was my husband's main gripe about BC and he's super happy about the changes.

Now just crossing my fingers and toes that things look a little more normal next year!

Happy New Year, everyone!
I must be holiday brain dead at the moment. Would you mind estimating about how far back in the thread the BC Marketplace changes were mentioned so I can go back and take a look?

And Happy New Year to you, too!

I ran a search in this thread for “marketplace.” I believe there were updates around October 5. Then I checked the Disney site for the menu. :)

I think the new furniture in the lobby happened sometime after the NBA left the hotel and it reopened to the public. Sometime this late fall, I think. I know someone else will be better able to pinpoint the date for you.

This info is perfect! The exact date is not important at all. Thank you very much!

The biggest change to the BC Marketplace was the return of the drink dispensers. The freestyle machines at the BC marketplace were a disaster, imo, because they didn't work well and long lines would form for them. There are now two separate drink dispensers with plenty of choices. They replaced some of the old refrigerators with new ones and changed some of the food displays. But I can't think of any major changes except in the drink area.

Are guests allowed to use those new drink machines in BC Marketplace? Or does a cast member have to do it, due to the pandemic?

The drinks are served by a cast member. But eventually they should be self serve machines.

Another change is that the coffee isn't by the soda anymore, it is under the windows over by the pastry area. The new coffee area used to be for merchandise.

You cant get your own hot drinks or pastries either. Those are also behind tables.

And there is mobile order or you order at the register. You can't order from the food cast members anymore. It is all a pre-pay system now.
