Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thanks. I booked direct with Disney and when I said they all have full balconies don't they, I was told that there are a few rooms that don't. So he put it in.

I was thinking that we don't really want to be near the elevators as one or both of them may pick up on the noise of the mechanisms. Anyone with family members with sensory issues will know where I'm coming from on that. But maybe that won't be an issue here?

We've also stayed on corridors in other hotels near to the fire doors half way down the halls and that meant issues with hearing them banging into the early hours as people walked through them. Is there anything like that here? We don't mind a bit of a walk to increase the likelihood of a bit more quiet at the end of a busy day. But are the corridors very long? I'm sure I'm worried about nothing. But taking them away involves a lot of planning.
I guess I meant near elevators as in a few doors down, I wouldn't like to be right next to elevator either.
Have a look at the page 1 of the thread for maps of YC. Halls are long. Our room was around the corner and down msybe 5 or 6 rooms from elevator.

So sorry to hear that you had to deal with such disruptive noise. I wonder where they were working- I believe at the time of your trip it was either the rooms on the 3rd and 2nd floor that were being worked on. I'm also disappointed to hear that the work was happening later than the promised end-time.
Lately, I have seen Disney construction notices stating that work will not run past dusk, which, at this time of year, is well into the evening.

Hello Everybody,

Next Yacht Cub Booking is suppose to be Oct 4-7 then Next Beach Club trip the one I am really excited for is Dec 23-28 we have requested the same room as last year so it is the Deluxe Room CL cant wait to be back

I'll make sure both trips are on the list.

:goodvibes

In other news, it occurred to me yesterday that since our next two trips are only 11 months apart, it may be less expensive to buy AP's rather than park passes for each trip. A quick call confirmed that fact, so now I have the most delightful dilemma!

Since we'll have AP's starting in December, that may be the perfect excuse to plan a little visit for the spring, in between our two longer trips. :cheer2:

Based on school and work schedules, I'm looking at either March 9-13 or May 4-8. Does anyone have experience with those dates? Crowds, weather, etc.

Let us know what you decide!

There was a discussion on here once about wimpy pool noodles. When I see them now, I think, "Are those the wimpy ones or the good ones?"

The lady in line behind me at Target thought I was weird for wanting to take a picture of her shopping cart. (I did ask nicely first, and promised that she and her family members would not be in the photo.)

(This was a Target near my home, so don't ask me if a particular Target in Orlando carries these 'cause I don't know.)

Do people bring their own noodles!? I thought they had tubes in the pool for the lazy river?

Hoping so because will will be at the Yacht Club from August 27th- sep 2nd so should be very hot!! We are super excited!!! Have never stayed at an Epcot resort before.

Thank you!

This post made me smile.

I still have a post on Page 1 all about the noodle family. Worth reading to reminisce or for a few giggles. Post 17, I think...

And during the 2015 Antics of the Orange Banded Monkey trip, ~Ninjamom and Rebecca made a trip to a Walmart near the Beach Club and got into a noodle fight. One of my favorite pictures!

And a couple more- Teena getting into a noodle fight with guest Bourquefamily and a couple of construction workers on the previous Beach Club renovation (2010???) battling it out

Not to mention the wedding pictures with the noodles...

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15 of this thread.

Yes, there are tubes available for use in the lazy river, but some people prefer to use pool noodles. Pool noodles may be used in Stormalong Baby, but other tubes or floatation devices from outside are not allowed.

You can purchase pool noodles at the Beach Club (and probably Yacht Club) Marketplace for $4.95 each, so if you prefer the noodles, it is MUCH cheaper to bring them from home.

A long, long time ago, we had a noodle exchange, like the fridge swap they used to have at the All Stars.

The length of the corridors is not extreme. Unless you have a physical problem with walking, it's nothing to worry about. On one of our Yacht Club stays, we had a room that was among the farthest you could have from the lobby. It still was less than a 5 minute walk. We had a beautiful view, as well.

Thanks Sue. I realised what you meant. With my family, somewhere within the vacinity of the elevators may or may not be an issue. People on the autism spectrum can have extremely sensitive hearing. They can often tell me teachers conversations that they've overheard that no one else has  . Depending on how they feel at the time being more central could be a plus. I won't dive in with a request either way yet. I'll bide my time and keep your tip in mind.

Thanks. That's good to know too.

There are some amenity additions in the refurbed rooms at the YC, including new/additional toiletries and a one liter bottle of water, which is replaced daily.
Thanks for posting the pictures of the refurbished rooms at the YC. Is that room a club level room or regular room? I'm curious about the coffee makers, since the k-cups are a lot more abundant that the average number of coffee pods that are usually left for guests.

The room was a standard Garden/Woods View room.

The toiletries in the room now include mouthwash, solar gel, and a "vanity kit," in addition to the soaps, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, and body wash. The four k-cups at the top of the photo are tea; all of the others are coffee.

Just back from a trip to WDW with my daughters and 7 year old granddaughter...a "girls only" trip.

We stayed in a Finding Nemo suite at AoA. It was nice, but it wasn't YC/BC!

Pandora was fascinating and FoP was awesome!!!

Loved the HEA fireworks and highly recommend the TT Plaza Dessert party! The viewing area was so spacious that DGD was able to dance and twirl to her heart's content.

So sorry to hear of Rebecca's passing...thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

Did you do the one where you go down to the grass area after eating your snacks? We've done the terrace one where you stay on the terrace and I love the idea, but it is not centered for viewing like the hub area. Considering it for our upcoming trip and would love to hear more details. Thanks!

Yes, we did the Plaza Viewing area dessert party. The dessert portion was on the upper level of Tomorrowland Terrace. Our check in time was 7:45. Around 8:30, CM began escorting guests to the viewing area, the grassy area in front of the Plaza restaurant.

We chose to stay in the dessert party area until 8:45 and easily found large open areas to watch the show. We chose to stay in the rear part of the area.

Those are the "wimpy" pool noodles!!! Those are the same ones we bought and I have to use two to hold me up.
We are on the Poly portion of our stay and we have all agreed that we prefer the BC , so much so that we even went by there this evening to see if we could move over early. Unfortunately we cannot. We like the Poly but the BC is truly home for us :lovestruc. We will be there Tuesday so not too much longer !!
