Scroll back a few posts and you’ll see some current pics. For someone (us) who aren’t totally familiar with the Wilderness Lodge, how are things looking right now? We’ll be there in about a week and a half - hopefully the lobby still looks great and we get nice water view rooms!

@Brian Noble you are actually 100% correct. There is a ramp to the waiting area for Whispering Canyon.I'm 90% sure is a ramp behind the left-most wall as you face the restaurant from the lobby; it runs from the restrooms to the left of the entrace up to the back left corner of the main dining room.
I saw - was hoping there’d be more progress. I probably won’t even care when I’m there but I’m a little disappointed - I’m usually more aware of refurbishments and such but I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention when booking - and really don’t know much about this resort compared to the other ones - but at least there’s good MK proximity.Scroll back a few posts and you’ll see some current pics.
The interior work is in the CCV (South) side of the Main lodge building. The exterior maintenance work is right now focused in the Courtyard (think if a big U shaped space between the North (resort rooms), and the South (DVC rooms). This is where the scaffolding is located in a couple of sections at the bottom of the "U" right along the Main section of the building, and a section along the North wing (resort rooms).Well, I’m glad I came here because I was unaware of any construction going on! Is this on the main building or the DVC area?
The interior work in the South (DVC) wing of the building is supposed to be done by the end of this month. The exterior maintenance work has no specific end date. They appear to be done with all the roof work, and the exterior wall work, and are only working on the Courtyard area. It can still change at any time if they identify any additional issues (disclaimer).I’m understanding from the last few pages of this that there is no clear end timeline but people think it should be done in the next couple months? Is that right?
Yes but did you really have a Standard View room booked since the older views have mostly been merged into a Resort view. Rooms on the exterior side of the North wing on floors 4-6 do have a partial Fireworks view without being classified as a Fireworks view room. Just don't look down or you will see the service area, and the smokehouse. Room number range: x042 - x066 where x is 4-6.The question I came to ask though is whether there are any standard view rooms that might have a partial fireworks view that I could request?
Aha you’re right! I have a resort view booked. So, are those room number blocks resort views that would be an option for me with the category I have booked?Yes but did you really have a Standard View room booked since the older views have mostly been merged into a Resort view. Got it! Thank you! Again, not super familiar with this resort so would these courtyard rooms mostly be resort view rooms? If I request the room block you reference above, would I be asking for one of these rooms blocked by scaffolding? I guess if they’re actively working on that area now though, maybe they will be done by late December ….They appear to be done with all the roof work, and the exterior wall work, and are only working on the Courtyard area.
Yes that block range of rooms will be all Resort View.Aha you’re right! I have a resort view booked. So, are those room number blocks resort views that would be an option for me with the category I have booked?
I think that the rate of $149 per day for club access is is a great value if you are someone who enjoys the benefits of the lounge. We frequently add it to our WL stay. But we also eat both breakfast and dinner in the lounge on those trips. I like to get my money's worth.I hate the dormer balconies on the 7th floor, so this is a good way to get the room I want.
But when we travel with family we like to dine at restaurants. We would not add cl access to those trips.
Some of the water view rooms actually have the same view as the image @mrsap posted just above your question. Hiding behind all that scaffolding mess is the man-made creek that starts in the lobby and runs down to the pool with an illusion that it drains into the pool.how are the water view rooms here? I’m hoping we get a nice view!
Ohh, that’s an awful view right now, I wonder if I should call and make some sort of request? Some of the water view rooms actually have the same view as the image @mrsap posted just above your question. Others further done near the end of the wing overlook the courtyard pool and larger parts of Bay lake.
