My husband and I stayed at Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon almost 20 years ago. There was a walking path to Fort Wilderness. Is that still available?

You can still walk, or bike to Fort Wilderness.

Yes. The paved bike path still traverses to FW, about a mile one way. The sandy trail that paralleled the lake is only partially available with the advent of the cabins. I walked that portion today, and I there is still a Y where if you take the right hand fork, it will meet up to the paved path.

According to a few comments in other posts, still no TiW at Geyser Point for the bar menu. You will get AP discount at the walkup. Don't order from the bar staff if you want to use any discount is the rule of thumb.

When we were there in February, the DS bus shared with the Contemporary, with WL being second on, but first off.

Well, they haven't exactly opened Reunion Station to my knowledge. We've been at the Lodge twice and have not seen it open. That being said, in the open air room outside of Reunion Station (right next to GP), there is a billiards table, a foosball table, a ping pong table, and an outdoor version of Connect Four which kids were using. No official word on the community hall, though.

I've never noted a difference between the two trails in terms of bugginess. I've seen a fair amount of critters on both, as well. Crane on the sandy trail just two days ago. Have seen big turtles and a small herd of deer (ran right past them--could've reached out and touched one of them). Have seen bunnies, squirrels, deer, and even a hawk on the ground (prey in its talons) on the paved trail. What I like about sandy path is it's more remote and, though you're not supposed to, you can run to back of FW via the sandy trail.

As Roxy says, the TiW isn't accepted but AP is. Nothing is accepted at the bar yet, though we had a CM tell us they hoped to soon accept discounts.

Yes- that was still the case the past few days.

I will say that we had some issues with transportation. Starting 7/1 and continuing through 7/5. There was a boat out of commission to MK, so there was a 45 minute wait one afternoon for a boat. Buses to AK and DHS both had 45 minute to 1 hour waits a few mornings. One morning, AK took us 45 minutes, and then went to Contemporary before going to AK (so it took us over an hour to get there from when we got to the stop). Typically in the AM you get a dedicated bus with no additional stops. Same morning DHS bus was called 4 times and people were still at the stop waiting over an hour at the point we got on the AK bus.

We did stop at the concierge and complain when we got back- it impacted our NRJ FP and our Tusker House reservation as a result. It wound up working out, but it was nerve-wracking...

There have obviously been quite a few room changes with the addition of Copper Creek and now I do not see any woods view category on the booking website. I wonder what room category the rooms facing toward magic Kingdom are? I've checked out touring plans but they have not updated yet with all of the changes.

They are standard view rooms facing MK. The high ones have a great view. We've booked this category twice recently and had a great MK view in January, and then were "upgraded" to a courtyard view in April. Since woods view is gone I think they are all standard but I am not sure about that.

I know king beds are not a booking category but just a request.
My question is, are king beds only available in certain booking categories? i.e. are kings not available in standard view? I don't care a ton about view, so I don't want to pay $80 extra per night just for a chance for a king bed, if there's just as much of a chance I could get it in standard view as courtyard view.

There are kings available in every category.
