Hello can anyone help me with regards to coffee???
We are staying in a one bedroom villa at WL and I understand there is a coffee machine- I'm looking on garden grocer & you can buy basket filters - will I need these ? Also what sort of coffee should I get for it? I'm from uk and am not used to your products - but need a good cup of coffee in the morning ( or two!)
Many thanks

Basket coffee filters are needed. Look for Maxwell House or Folgers coffee on Garden Grocer. One is original roast the other is medium roast.

Sugar you can get packets in the quick service at the resort. No need to order.

Is the cow bell outside the arcade still there? Seems like I read a long time ago that's its gone. It's been a few years since we've been and my boys just loved ringing that thing! I mentioned it might be gone and they said they would have to bring their own!

They were not there in Aug and my kids were crushed.

All four of them were there last week.

Yay!!! I wonder what happened but so glad to hear this (though I may rethink having a south lobby room).

Is anyone there now, or going very soon that would take a picture of the toiletries that are in the room (not club level)? Does the resort normally provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion in addition to soap? I'm debating whether to pack these items, or just use the resort provided ones. Thanks!!

Don't have a picture but yes, the resort does provide those items you mentioned.

Many thanks

Your original post said you wanted "good" coffee. Since you aren't familiar with our brands is suggest getting the Starbucks or dunkin donuts brand. They are a little more expensive but likely more in line with what you are looking for.

Woohoo, headed to our beloved lodge a week for tomorrow. So excited.

Quick question, does anyone know if the mercantile sells bottles of wine?

Yes, they do. DH says they have a pretty large selection. They will open it for you at checkout. You don't have to have a corkscrew. :)

There is shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a bar of sea salt bath soap and one of facial soap.

Here is what I wrote after our early August 2014 trip:

"For the person asking about wine, there is a 1/2 bottle at $11. Bottles are different labels starting from $13. I saw one that was $23. Red is on the shelves. White is in the cooler. They had probably 5 kinds of red. I didn't look at white."

Also, they used to sell a house label in RF as well. Not available by the glass, but you could get bottles to go.

I am beyond excited for the WL!!!!!! I am booked in a Courtyard View room. My TA called today and added my room requests- 4th floor king bed, inner courtyard. Since it will just be myself, I don't need 2 queens so eventhough I will be happy either way, a king would be a little better for me. November is too far away!!!!!! Hurry!!!!!
YAY! Most King rooms are HA rooms and when those aren't occupied/requested, the Room Assignors do put guests who request a King into them. The room is less desirable than a non-HA room if you don't have a physical need for it.

Just adding that the CL toiletries are identical to non-CL, with the exception that the CL rooms get a bottle of shower gel. It used to be that CL rooms at some other resorts, like the Epcot resorts, would also get solar gel, but I don't recall ever seeing it at WL and last summer, it wasn't offered any longer at YC-CL.

I know your question was answered, and here are some pictures:

A while back they also had some wine in the locked liquor cabinet behind the check-out:

And at one time they also had wine at Roaring Fork:

Congratulations on your 500th and many, many more!

I took a picture of the toiletries when we were there last month. I'm sorry that it isn't in focus. There is shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a bar of sea salt bath soap and one of facial soap. This is what they have in the resort rooms that are not club level.

Perfect!! Thank you!!!!

Another option is Epcot - We really enjoy a glass of "Rosa Regale" (the red "champagne") It used to be $10 a glass (its been awhile since we've been) But sold for $20 a bottle - we'd buy the bottle, they would deliver it to the front gate so when we left, we'd pick it up! Germany also has some good wine options - you can buy a "wine flight" to taste the wines..

I'll also add when we went to Boma at AKL we stopped in their Mercantile and purchased a bottle of wine to go. Also, we brought a wine corkscrew in our carry on luggage - just make sure its a "cheap" one, and it doesn't have a "knife" in it - I say "cheap" because sometimes a TSA in Chicago won't let it go through - but that was early on after 9/11, the TSA guidelines say you can bring corkscrews (and knitting needles) but every now and again, they will get confiscated... its rarer now though!

Thanks blue ferry, kook, and eeorye for all the help with my wine fix. It appears the WL and Epcot wine gods will take good care of me

We were there in August too and I rang that cowbell every time we walked by. Weird. Our dates were 8/10-18
