Are all of the standard rooms on the seventh floor or higher..? Or are there any lower?

Also, do all of the standard rooms have a view of the roof or are there some with better views?

Thanks much
The seventh floor rooms are the club level rooms. The standard rooms used to be the fourth, fifth and sixth floor rooms that were above the lobby on the inside and had a view of the service area and MK on the north side. I don't know if they reclassified any of the woods view rooms as standard view during construction, but none of the standard view rooms on the north side, the only ones that are currently open, have a roof view. Once they reopen the south side of the resort then some of the standard view rooms on the south side will have a roof view.

To my great surprise, my animal-loving little guy requested that we switch our late-fall 2016 trip from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Wilderness Lodge - he saw photos of the splash pad at WL and fell in love. So we've made the switch and are looking forward to our first Wilderness Lodge stay.

I have what might seem like a silly question. During our previous late-fall stays at AKL - Jambo House, every evening, a Photopass photographer was stationed near the lovely Christmas tree, offering to take portraits of people/families. We've gotten some great photos there. Wilderness Lodge has a similarly impressive lobby, and I remember seeing a similarly impressive tree there. So my question is, are they likely to also have a Photopass photographer there during the holiday season? It's a real treat to be *in* the photo instead of behind the camera sometimes! :)

Thanks

Yes, on the times we've been there (and most other Deluxe resorts) at Christmas they have had a Photopass photographer around. Not sure of the hours but we did a resort run last year in the mid afternoon and all had them

planning our first trip to WL in August. Booked bunk bed courtyard view, tried doing some research to where the bunk rooms are located in the resort and found an old topic on inercot
appears rooms 6047 & 6049 appear to have the best views of MK?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but if you're in the courtyard view rooms, especially in the wing that's open, you won't have a view of MK. Your view will be of the lake/pool area. 6047 and 6049 are most likely going to have a view of the waterfall area if I'm visualizing the area properly.
To see the MK/Contemporary, you'd need what used to be a woods view or standard view now I guess, with construction, in that wing. In August 2014 we had a great woods view room that even with the trees, we could see the Contemporary, the tip top of the castle, and high wishes fireworks.

I completely agree. In the North wing (which is the side towards MK that is in use) the courtyard view rooms have balconies that face South, towards the pool and waterfall. The standard / woods view rooms on the other side have balconies that face North towards MK, but also overlook construction along the shoreline. So, if you want a MK view I wouldn't recommend courtyard view, but be aware that you will have a greater likelihood of seeing construction from your balcony if it faces MK.

Yes! And they take beautiful pictures!!!

We're considering our first stay at Wilderness and know about the construction, but I haven't been able to find info on whether the electrical water pageant still goes by Wilderness during this time? I know the beach would be closed, but is it possible to watch from the docks during this time or are they bypassing the resort entirely? Definitely not a deal breaker, but just curious. Thanks!

We're here now and the pageant goes by every night at 9:30. You can see it from the dock.

Looking forward to our stay and kudos to Disney for so widely publicizing the construction. It's on the website, they tell you when you call, etc. Always wanted to stay here so it's worth a minor inconvenience. I do feel for those wanting to nap mid-day though. We are usually so tired from the parks, they might could be hammering next door and we wouldn't hear it! For that matter, love our past stays at All Stars but have a hard time believing it could be louder than Pop Warner time!

Our family of four is staying for the first time June 25 - July 2nd and am very excited and curious where we will end up as well. This is my fav resort hands down as we have eaten at WC a few times but have never stayed there.

No problem, we're just trying to make sure we understand. Yes, the dock is off the East end of the North wing, and has a great view of the EWP. There are a few rooms on the end of the wing that have balconies that face East, but there are a lot of trees in the area so your view from them isn't great. Also the balcony would be facing the wrong direction for Wishes. You can catch some of Wishes from the boat dock itself, but it is a much better view from the boat as it gets closer to MK if you can get the timing right. To see Wishes from your room balcony, a high floor room on the North side of the North wing is probably your best bet. I really don't think there is a room available that will have a great view of both Wishes and EWP from the balcony, but it is easy enough to walk to see either one. Happy planning and have a great trip.

I've roughly followed the construction on the CL floor. I know the lounge is in a temporary home, a former suite of some sort, right?
What about the Deluxe rooms? These are located on various floors, correct? Has anything changed about them since the construction started, other than there are fewer of them now?
Considering trying one for our trip next month, unless there is a glaring issue that makes them undesirable right now

Has anyone gone to check in and they where booked of all the standard rooms (over booked if you will) and they had to put you in a different room due to the construction?

I've had that happen at WL even before construction started. It can always happen. Does it happen more because of the construction? Good question. I tend to think no. They probably have a standard percentage of overbooking they do. With fewer rooms at WL the probably just lower the number of overbooking they do.
