Hi, just wondering if anybody has ever been here while visiting the DLR? Do they only serve ice cream and related items? Or do they serve lunch as well?

We are considering stopping there on our way to DL this October, but I have never been. I went to there website to look at the menu, but my computer is sooo slow it was taking forever to open the pdf file.

I love the Soda Fountain! They have everything from Ice Cream to Spaghetti. They serve Soup, salad, sandwiches and even have stuff for kids. I would recommend stopping there or sure!

We went to the soda fountain two years ago when we were visiting DL and we plan to go again this year. They serve really yummy ice-cream (we had a Mickeys Masterpiece a 10am last time we were there) but also other items too, sandwiches etc. Can't wait to go again the peppermint ice-cream is great and the have exclusive pins there too!

Thanks everyone!!
Unfortunately, my computer is not opening pdf files right now, so I cannot open the menu. Is anybody able to copy and paste it and just send it to me in an email?? That would be great if you could!!
If the menu does not have prices, what are their prices like? Are they "Disneyland" prices (sky high)? Or regular diner prices?

Thanks so much!!

I've thought about stopping there, but then I get concerned about L.A. traffic really delaying my arrival in Disneyland, so I skip it. Maybe I'll stop there on my way back this next weekend.

We go there when we dont have a whole day to go to DL. It really fixes the DL jones! And the food is good. Its funny though, you can order a sandwich and it comes with chips or potato salad or something but you dont really get filled up, and then when you order desert, the icecream portions are huge! Its like they make you stay a little hungry for room for dessert. Its right next to El Captain theatre too so if there is a movie showing, try to make the time to see it there. It is a beautiful theatre. Such a work of art. If you are visiting the area, just pay the fee for parking and be done with it though because the DO TICKET AND DO TOW if you are in the wrong spot or run out of meter change. Plus you could spend hours trying to find a spot.

IMHO it's worth stopping there for the ice cream alone!!

Yummy!!!! Somebody please send me a personal email!!!!

We wanted to try this too, but I google maped it and it is over 40 miles out of our way. I think we'll just hit the beach and DTD our first night instead of fighting the traffic, etc. of Hollywood (looked good though and really wanted to go)!

We'll be stopping there in July. Some in our group has never been to Hollywood so this is a great excuse to go (it's across the street from the Chinese Theater.) Sooooo, while they look at the famous footprints, I'll be over at the Soda Fountain. It's a fair exchange. :)

We ate this baby at the ungodly ice cream hour of 10 am.... just to get the Stitch pin.

Anyone know a good parking garage for around that area??

And WOW Did you have to eat it ALL to get the PIN? :lmao:

You could park at the Hollywood and Highlands centre which is just a few minutes walk away.

For the pin do they they have a selection of pins to choose from or are you given one specific pin?

That's what we did. We parked at the Hollywood and Highlands Centre (it has the Kodak Theatre in it). We went on a Saturday morning so there was some of kind of parking special there... there were also many little girls dressed up in Barbie fairie costumes. There was a Barbie show at the Kodak Theatre. LOL I've never seen so much pink.

The day we went was an exclusive pin day...they were releasing some exclusives and one of them was only given out if you ate that sundae. We treated that sundae like a badge of honour...well, we not only wore it, we laboured through it. Thankfully, we told them to leave out the marshmallow and whipped cream. Did we finish it? No.... I didn't. I love ice cream but if I had known we were going to tackle that monstrosity so early in the morning, I wouldn't have had the breakfast buffet at the hotel first. LOL

How far out of the way is DSF from I-5 North? I'm thinking of stopping there for lunch on my way back this weekend?
