Is it just my family or does anybody else wish they'd come up with something better than the bad smells (the stinkbug in It's a Bug's Life at AK, in Epcot there was the skunk smell in Imagination) they're using in the attractions. I know there was apple pie in something (which was great).

We really didn't like the "awful" smells when we were there last week! Is is just us, or is it because we're "older" (50, 47, 23, and 19)?

You forgot Stitch's chili dog burp. ;) The smells don't bother me, they fit the attractions. I miss the sulpher/smoky scent the use to have on Universe of Energy.

You're right, how could I have forgotten that one? :lmao:

I actually liked that smoky smell you're talking about. It kind of made the whole thing more "real".

That yummy apple pie scent was from Mickey's Philharmagic. I do agree I wish there were more good scents than bad scents, but the bad ones dont bother me to much.

I was fortunate enough to miss the smells you mentioned in your first post, but Stitch had me gagging. I will never, never, never go on that again. (In fact, on our last full day we met up with friends and I waited while DH, DS, and DD went with them. I tried to wait in the gift shop that it empties into, but even that smelled bad!)

They are bad smells for a reason. The stinkbug really does stink and a skunk does smell. I think they are funny.

What's the one about Stitch? I know of all the others and they don't bother me too much.

On Stich's Great Escape he "steals" a chili dog from some one, eats it, then bleches it up. To me it smells just like when you open a can of chili. Once you know its coming you can hold your breath and not get the full brunt of it.

There is also that smell in Spaceship Earth, when you are around the dark ages and it is supposed to smell like burning wood, but it always smells like someone is bbq'ng some pork.

Ahhh the pie smell in Philharmagic... mmmm

That is "Rome burning" and to me, it smells uniquely Disney - I love it! Another "good" smell is the orange groves in Soarin'

I always have to stick my face in my shirt whe we get to Rome on SSE. I hate that smell. THE apple pie smell- mmmm.

I agree I really don't like the skunk on Figment. even my 4yr old complains! But the suggestion to take a deep breath helps alot. When I was pregnant that skunk smell just like stuck with me for a few hours-- It was awful. Bring on the nice, yummy smells!

Back when the Pooh ride was brand new it had a smell, HONEY

our last visit I did not smell it though

My DD also commented on the orange groves in Soarin', but I didn't smell it. :confused3

The orange groves and the salt air are my favorite parts of Soaring'. Sorry you missed it. Your dispenser must've been empty.

My DD was sitting next to me with her BF next to her and with DH on the other side of me, and they all smelled it, so it was probably just me! :rolleyes1

Quite honestly, I'll ride pretty much anything, but I'm a little bit afraid of heights (not when I'm in a roller coaster, but the glider had a whole different type of feel to it). I ride everything in all of the parks, and believe it or not, Soarin' is the "scariest" to me! :lmao: I was probably focusing on "not falling out" and missed the good smells! :rotfl:

I am a HUGE Stitch fan and the number one reason I have never done SGE is because of all the posts I've read about the chili dog smell. I'm usually pretty laid back but the one thing that irks me is being unnecasarily subjected to bad smells...as much as I want to see the Stitch attraction(and I do get why they would have Stitch burping, it's totally in character) I just can't bring myself to do it.

On a happy note, I love the smells in Soarin' (my new all time favorite ride ever!), The first time I rode it I didn't notice the smells, I'm not sure why, but when I heard other people talking about them after the ride, I noticed them on my second try. Power of suggestion?
