Disney's Rental Tents?

Has anyone ever rented a tent from Disney to use at FW? I know they rent them out for a fee as well as cots for like $5 per night, I was wondering what the tents were like? How big are they? Are they waterproof? Last December we camped for 5 nights, but on our last day it rained steady, and when we returned to our tent(our own Coleman), the inside was SOAKED--we even had pools of water on the floor--we ended up renting a cabin that last night. I was wondering if the tents they rent out are a higher quality or something --maybe the withstand the wet weather more?? Any info would be great!!! THANKS!!

As far as I know, FW only rents tents for groups in their Group Camping area. Does anyone else know if they've started renting out individual tents?

I have heard of individuals renting tents if they are available, but from what I have seen of Disney's tents, they are pretty rustic at best.

When i was there in 2001 there was a birthday part in the site next to us that had rented FW tents and camping equipment. This was not in the Group area but in the 1500 loop. They looked like old military tents.

I just got back 6/2/06 after 8 nights and a rental tent was set up across from us for 2-3 nights, can't recall, in the 900 loop. It was a tan wall tent maybe 10 x 10 and 6 feet tall in the center. Two Fort Wilderness employees were taking it down and I went over to talk to them. So yes, for the fee they will set it up before you arrive and take it down for you. It looked like the tent had been used before but I would have been satisfied with it.

Thanks for the info!! It would be really nice to have it set up for you! (thats not a very fun job-especially if you have impatient kids waiting to go to the parks! I appreciate the info-sure helps in the planning!!
