Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

I did look at the map, but it didn't really help me with a bus stop strategy.
If we are in Acadian House we like North Depot, Magnolia or Oak Manor we use East Depot. Parterre Pl is closer to South Depot, although we don't like the main depot so going to park will walk the extra distance to East depot anyway.
Returning to resort we freq get off at South (main depot) regardless of where our room is to fill up our mugs before heading back to room.

How much is a regular coffee in the food court?

I am trying to decide if a refillable mug is a better deal for a 5-night stay than buying a coffee every morning. I know that I can refill it with soda etc too, but coffee is the only use I know I'll get out of it for sure...

All ears.net has menus with prices. There is coffee in room. For me it's worth it but I have longer stays. I'm not a pop drinker but I also like hot & Ice tea, and the lemonade.

I had checked allears but didn't see a regular coffee item listed.

Hello,

Going to POR Sept 4-12. This is our 4th trip in 5 years, but we've never stayed here before. We have a pool view. Close bus stops are important to us. Any recommendations for good building close to a good bus stop? We've been so lucky at Pop, CSR, and CBR as far as bus stops go that I can't imagine not having a good stop. We are mostly park goers. Thanks for any help!
I've stayed at POR twice now, once in AB Building 25 and once in Magnolia Bend. Both are close to a bus stop. We loved building 25. The buses were never full at the West Depot. We did have to wait about 20 minutes once for an Animal Kingdom bus at the East Depot. Buses tended to be quite a bit fuller there for us. Have fun on your trip! We love POR!

That's so odd, I can't find price for a regular coffee either. But Andre is most likely correct in his price. I always have a mug so haven't paid attention to price. Mug is worth it for me as I usually fill it 3 times a day at least. A.M coffee, mid day break ice tea & lemonade, evening hot tea. I also carry mug with me so if I'm at another resort during my travels, I can fill mug there. Like strolling around Boardwalk. Also good to keep drinks cold at park, like those frozen Grey Goose slushies in France :upsidedow

If you stay 5 days and buy at least one soft drink or coffee per day it is always worth it.

We will be soaking up the sun at POR very soon! Last minute strategies are keeping me awake now! I have a question about the boat to DTD. We have an 8:45am BBB at DTD. I think I remember reading that the boats don't go that early, but I just wanted some confirmation and some advice for a strategy. My daughter and I will be doing BBB, then meeting my sons and husband at Epcot afterwards. We will have a car. If I can't take the boat, what is your suggestion for travel to DTD and then Epcot? I know the construction is messy. It is a Monday, if that makes a difference. Thanks for advice!

We were in 24 in AB, and we're very close to the West Depot which was the first to pick up every time while we were there. (No guarantees on the pick up order, though). It's a bit of a hike to the main buildings, but close to a bus stop was our #1 priority, and we were very happy.

You're right, the ferry boats don't start until 10am. Normally I would not suggest driving to DTD at the moment (with all the construction work and restricted parking) but at 8:30am you'll be absolutely fine. So drive to DTD with your daughter, and then drive over to Epcot afterwards. The others can take the bus directly from the resort to Epcot and meet you there. Allow yourself 30 minutes to drive over to DTD, park, walk to the BBB and checkin earlier than your appointment time.

We have booked a trip for September. I was wondering...if you have a car and you are in a royal room, would you (a) drive to all the parks, (b) take the bus, or (c) drive to all the parks except the MK. My husband would rather take our car everywhere, but I'm not sure how long that will take going to the MK since we would need to park at the TTC.

I've been trying to figure out a good plan for our first day. Before we check in, we plan to visit Epcot in the morning (parking there,) then check-in at POR, and then go to the MK for the evening to do some rides, see the electrical parade, and see Wishes at 9 pm in the park for the first time with our children. We have never been at the MK in the evening before with our children. I'm worried about how long it might take to get back to our room afterward with our different options. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We arrive in 9 days. A couple of questions.
1. Do the resort buses start any earlier than 6:30 on Star Wars Weekends?
2. How early should I order from Amazon Pantry for our arrival?

I wouldn't drive to MK. You would have to park at the TTC, then take a parking lot tram to take the big ferry or monorail to MK. Resort busses drop off at MK. For other parks you could do it each way, drive then try bus to see which you prefer.

Hello All! :)

Happy to report into this thread after upgrading our stay from POP to POR Royal Guest Room! :) We are traveling Aug 17th through the 26th.

This thread has been great with information and I must say Andre you site is fantastic as I was looking at that site before I changed my booking and it was the site that helped me make up my mind! :)

I do have one question for my own clarification ... from my understanding there are 4 bus stops in POR .... North - East - South - West ... and the bus pick up and drop of rotation of that is normally is WEST 1st - NORTH 2nd - EAST 3rd SOUTH 4th

Thanks!
We will be there on the 15-26

Which bus stop is the first pickup? Or maybe the better question is what is the order in which the buses pick up in POR?
We were there last week and I would say 90% of the buses stopped at the West Depot first. We always were the first group on. It worked out well!

Going back to POR this year after 6 years. We have a garden room ressie, but please remind me....which bldgs. Are Garden View. I really like the proximity to everything to blog. 17 and 27. Good choices when I place my requests? I'm sure I will have many questions up until we go. We have been CBR folks for quite a few years and 1 year WL, so this might only be the first of many. Thanks everyone.
