Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

Can anyone tell me if POR sells cases of water in the gift shop & if so, how much are they? Thank you
It is a case of 24 - 12 oz bottles for $6.39.

We were there last weekend and one of the snack trucks came by the quiet pool in AB. I didn't see what they were selling but it was running that day.
Thanks for confirming that the snack trucks still visited the quiet pools. We will be with our two grandsons, age 10 and 12, and I know they would love to get some of those snacks. :)

Hi, I have 2 questions:
1. When doing online checkin, is there an option to choose for the direct to room or is it automatic?
2. I have two rooms booked. One arriving on a Sat. and one arriving on the following Tuesday. I'm really wanting connecting rooms. Do I need to send 2 faxes for each reservation or how would I go about the requests for the 2 rooms? They are both under the same MDE but I obviously have 2 reservation numbers.
Thanks

The Direct to Room option is pretty much automatic as long as you are a US guest who has received magic bands in the mail, and you supplied your card details during online checkin.

I would suggest sending one fax listing both reservation numbers, about 3-5 days before the first arrival date. There are no guarantees of course, and you'll stand a better chance during quieter times of the year.

1. That is not something the guest can control. Most of the time if you do online check in, have MB, set you PIN, then you get the offer to go straight to your room. Sometimes you still won't get it. But there is nothing you can do to control if it happens or not. I've gotten in 8 out of 10 stays the past year and there's no reason why the 2 didn't get it, they just didn't

Your booking for three people in a King Bed room will indeed guarantee you an Alligator Bayou room, with a Murphy bed - and that option 'trumps' all other booking categories by the way, so you could legitimately request things like a river view or to be in one of the preferred location buildings if you want. What you won't get, as you surmised, is a Royal Room. I think the other factors are probably more of a draw for you anyway, and as long as you don't tell your DGD about the Royal Rooms she will love her cute pull-down bed with the picture of Louis the alligator. What she doesn't know about won't worry her.
Thank you! That confirmed all I needed to know. We will book a King with the 3 of us. It will suit us better.

Does the royal guest room accommodate a crib and or pack and play. Wondering if we could fit 3 adults and two children ages 5 and 2?

Extremely excited to go back to the POR this summer! My dates have regular rack rate only, but if I play with a UOC, I can do 1 night at a pool rate, 4 nights at a garden AND get free park hoppers for my DDs. It would save several hundred dollars. Anyone crazy enough to do something like this? Is there even a chance that we could stay in the same room?

Without them being the same room category? A chance but a slim one. We have had good luck but only when they are the same room category

Yes, that would be OK while the second child is 2, but would not be permitted after age 3. You would be charged a third-adult surcharge of course.

Is there Royal rooms that are closer to the bus stop at PORFQ than the busses at POR?

No, from anywhere in the Royal buildings it would be a longer walk to the POFQ bus stop than to either the South or East Depots at Riverside.

When the first group checks in they should talk to the front desk and see if they can get connecting rooms. I know that they can block off a room so that no one gives it out. We have had that done for our daughter and her family who were arriving a few days later. But making them connecting rooms is a little difficult when the two parties are arriving on separate days. They don't like to leave rooms empty.

Is anybody else having problems with Disney website right now? I cannot see my reservations.
I have been on the website several times today, modifying fastpasses and ADR's for our upcoming trip. The website has been very bad today. :badpc:

My family of four has stayed at POFQ several times, but we booked Riverside for our upcoming trip. We want to stay in the Magnolia Bend area. What room numbers are close to the food court? Are there other considerations that we should think about in requesting a certain area in this resort?

Just ask to be in Magnolia Bend, close to the food court, rather than try to figure out what room number to request.

Hi everyone! Only two weeks until we check in to POR! I am preparing the fax I will send, probably on the Tuesday or Wednesday before we check in (Saturday), and I'd like some feedback. We had our TA put AB as a request on our original reservation, and I did online check-in asking for highest floor and corner room. We don't really have any very specific requests. What do you think:

"We stayed at this resort in 2014, and absolutely fell in love with it, I believe mostly because of how lovely we found our Alligator Bayou room. On this previous stay, we were in building 38, with a Garden View, room 3805. What we loved most about it was how it almost felt remote; there was so much greenery and lushness just outside our door. Plus, it was quiet, our room seemed to be tucked away in a corner and it felt so cozy! We have booked a Garden View room this time as well, and we would be most grateful if you could possibly find us a room in Alligator Bayou in a similar location to 3805, not overlooking a busy pathway but mostly the vegetation of the bayou. We are coming to Riverside as a special celebratory trip for our 15th anniversary and my husband finally completing his PhD. We understand that these are requests, and we know we will have a wonderful stay at the resort no matter what, but any additional pixie dust you might be able to provide to assign us to a room like the one previously described would be lovely."

It looks like the Muddy Rivers pool bar at Port Orleans Riverside will soon be installing facilities for limited hot food preparation. Don't get too excited, it won't become a full quick service dining location or anything like that, but there will be simple hot fried food available - french fries, chicken nuggets, wings, etc - prepared to order by the bartenders. See PerfectFry.com for an idea of the sort of equipment they are planning to use, and it seems that connection points have just been fitted in readiness (I have no idea why they didn't do this during the recent two-month refurbishment period, which you'd have thought would have made a lot more sense).
