what's a coca cola freestyle machine?A few more answers to some of the other questions about the FQ food court refurb:
Andre
- Tables in Wonderland will continue to be accepted at the temporary location at FQ, but it won't be accepted at the Riverside Mill (even though that may act as an overspill location).
- The best information on the end date for the refurbishment at the moment is that it will definitely be done before Thanksgiving, but how much before then is not certain.
- The extra transportation between FQ and Riverside will probably take the form of a minibus/van transfer shuttle, but it will be based on what the actual level of demand turns out to be.
- Evening entertainment at Scat Cat's Club at French Quarter will continue as normal (which currently means the excellent Jason and Billy from Off Kilter).
- A few little hints on what to expect from the refurb: some of the 'scarier' giant face masks will be removed, but other parade icons will remain to maintain the theming. The overall design will be remodeled slightly, with new paint, flooring, equipment, etc. I also gather that after the refit the drinks fountain area may include the new Coca Cola "Freestyle" machines, which I think is great news!

I always attach room requests to Res and I fax 4-5 days before arrival. I've never gotten a room in no man's land![]()
I'd request a GV room in Magnolia terrace, on river side of building, close to Old man Island foot bridge. And be sure you fax request 4-5 days before arrival. That is a great location. I don't care for AB section, and I've never been put in it. I've had great luck with room assignment and only once got that Parterre locationI still can't make up my mind, lol! There is a garden view available at POR, with a late summer AP discount, which as I said, would cost me about $135 less than the standard rate garden view at POFQ, but I'm worried I'll get stuck with a far out AB room, and then there's a standard view royal room available, with AP discount, that will cost me about $166 more than my POFQ room, but I could end up in Parterre Place in a room that's almost in FQ, lol. I've done room requests every trip, and so far am about 50/50 for getting what I requested. I have to ask myself what's the bigger gamble, that the food court won't be done at FQ, or get stuck in a location at POR that I will not be happy with. I think I will probably have to stick to my POFQ reservation, unless a better fall AP discount comes out for our dates, which at this point in time looks highly unlikely.

Okay, I think you've got me convinced to give it a try!![]()
We just like going out the door and seeing the river. We have also had pool and gardenview. River probably books last as it is more expensive .I've only stayed in buildings 4 &5 and currently have a river view booked for August. Are river rooms more popular or nicer over the garden?
thanks!

This is a pic I found on a thread from a while back. I'm taking my daughter on a surprise trip for her 16th birthday this November and I'll be decorating our window with Sweet 16 and Princess and the Frog decorations (Tiana is her favorite princess).
Really pretty - and so organised - I am definitely adding that to my planning list!Haha - that was a picture I posted a few years back of our window decorations. Actually had a corner room so got to decorate 2 windows. Used Princess and the Frog cling stickers and suction cups. The doors are metal so you can attach magnets as well. I may have to dig those decorations out of the closet and re-use on our upcoming trip in August - will be celebrating my DD's 14th birthday during that trip.
Would you happen to remember how many inches tall and wide your Tiana and Naveen Decorations were? I'm trying to get an idea of how big the windows are to see if the decorations I made will fit. I loved your post with the pictures by the way!Haha - that was a picture I posted a few years back of our window decorations. Actually had a corner room so got to decorate 2 windows. Great! Thank you soooo much!!!!The windows are 5ft x 5ft, split into smaller panes (12 panes at FQ, in a 3 high x 4 across layout).
