DFB reported in one of their recent videos that the shadow boxes were actually only on loan and went back to their original owners.

I hate that the skyliner is always down during my birthday. Makes wanting to finally have a Disney birthday trip a little less appealing unless I had the money for the Polynesian.

the poly doesn’t really do it for me tbh, the food options at pop are better. I still gotta get back there to try the shake. But yea without the skyliner I would pick another place 10000%

1-5 are complete. 6 is in progress. Not sure if next building has been started or not and if so, which one it will he?

All of building 6 was still closed and being worked on this past week. It looked like some rooms on the back side facing the lake were very close to being complete - stickers were off of the windows, furniture was in place and beds made. The remaining 4 buildings had not had any work started yet.

It will be interesting to see where they go next. So far they have gone in numerical order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 but, building 10 faces 6 so it will be interesting to see if they go to 10 or 7 next.

They traditionally start with the section that is the ‘base of the T’ (rooms 25-48) so hopefully someone will update once they see construction happening in the next building.

Historically, once they open rooms 6125-6448, they will close the first portion of the next building.

I'm a bit on the high side but I would budget close to $20/poncho at WDW.

I keep a spreadsheet while I'm at WDW, and on July 28, 2025, I purchased a rain poncho from Crossroads kiosk in DHS. Price: $12.77.

I knew that spreadsheet would come in handy one day!

If you want to be near the front of the crowds entering a park at Early Entry opening, standard advice is to be at transportation 90 minutes before posted EE opening time. Transportation begins running about 1 hour before EE opening time - so yes, lining up 30 minutes before the Skyliner opens should put you near the front of the crowds.

Remember that en route to DHS you'll have to change lines at CBR and will encounter crowds from CBR and from Riviera (and possibly guests from Epcot area resorts who don't like riding the boat or walking).

As shared by @CarolynFH, arriving at transportation 90 mins before ETPE is the tried and true recommendation for both Skyliner (to DHS and Epcot) and bus (to MK and AK) transportation.

We have stayed at Pop many times since the Skyliner opened and will say in the morning, the wait at CBR where the 3 Skyliner lines and CBR guests merge, to be a minimal wait of only a few Skyliner cabins. We seem to encounter longer lines at night when leaving DHS or Epcot when the parks close.

Our experience these last several years is that they send most/if not all of the CBR lime before Pop can even get there. The first cpl. yrs this was not our experience. I will also say over the last 1.5 yrs or so if they don't start the skyliner until 730, 7am is not early enough to be towards the front. The last few trips we've lined up at skyliner between 615-630 (730 skyliner start) and have never been first, but definitely one of the first handful of groups. By 645/650 the line has been down the bridge close to the turn

We were looking so forward to our stay at POP in 46 days but my Wife's plantar fasciitis has flared up over the last month and we are going to be cancelling our trip this week. Such bad timing and unfortunate. We love Pop so much.

I signed up for Touring plans to do a room request and I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly but all I see is that it lets you view different room #'s and their locations and then it requests that room #.

So is there somewhere that I also type in on my request what building or floor or do they just look at that room number and go by that? I hope that made sense.

The room number you request tells them building and floor.

Room 1234 means:
- Building 1
- Floor 2
- Room 34

TP has a comments area on their room request form. You can add those details there prior to submitting.

I have a lot of pics I took during our trip and will post some updated pics in the posts on page 1 plus a bunch here as I have too many for the first page.

One thing I thought was worth mentioning on it's own is, it appears 'thinning out' some of the shrubbery and trees from around the rooms is included in the current refurbishment. It's great for improving the views from the rooms and outdoor corridors as well as I'm sure cuts down on the critters that may try to wander around the resort.

Here's a pic from the Touring Plans site of what the view was previously from our room in building 4. You can see it was very overgrown and almost impossible to see Hourglass Lake.


This is a pic I took in August from the same location. So bright, fresh and so much to see!

Can anyone tell me if the pool noise is loud in the preferred rooms on the back side of building 4 or 5? Or if there is a better building to request? I was actually going to request building 6, but no confirmation if it is through renovations yet.

We’ve stayed in the backside of building 5 in a preferred room on a few different trips.
We’ve never noticed or heard any pool noise.

The only thing we’ve heard are the maids and maid golf carts early in the morning. But it was nothing that bothered us. Just an observation. I do generally like this location for a preferred room.

We were on the ground floor both times.

We were in a preferred pool view room in May facing the pool. 2nd floor.

We heard absolutely nothing once we closed the door!

And we had an 18 month old with us who napped.

I would certainly think noise wouldn’t be an issue on the other side of the building (not facing the pool)

I just came home from Pop. Work has started on building 10 closest to Classic Hall. Building 6 closest to Classic Hall had stickers off the windows and looks to be close to being ready.

I am assuming they will be working on 80s and 90s last.

Building 5 appeared to be completely available for occupancy.

I was in building 1 and they were putting fresh paint on the icons and lettering attached to the building and railings as well as power washing walkways.

Just to clarify, by the "back side" of the building do you mean the end of the building closest to the Skyliner but still facing the pool? Because the rooms at that end of the building closest the Skyliner but *not* facing the pool (facing the lake instead) are standard rooms, not preferred. You definitely won't have pool noise in those rooms.
