Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Was at Pop for a few days last week and here is my tip--if you know it is going to storm, get your food before it does. The food court becomes crazy when it rains/storms. And they don't replenish the grab and go food. Once it is gone it is gone. One night we hopped into the shortest line for food, another I went before the coming storm and grabbed one of two remaining turkey sandwiches from the cooler.

We got back from Pop last Saturday after spending a week at Disney World. Teachers out of school! It was fantastic. I put in my room requests via TP and also called Pop. I even took advantage of the chat feature online. I requested Building 3, top floor, connecting rooms. We got Building 3, second floor, connecting rooms (3270/3271). It was PERFECT! I found I like the second floor better since I can go up and down the stairs without using the elevator. I thought the noise above me would keep me up (light sleeper), but it did not. I pack a small noise maker, and it does the trick every time. Buses were on point; skyliner moved so quickly in the morning for rope drop. Building 3 is the perfect spot for the skyliner! We used the bounce back offer for the same week next year and saved a ton of money. In all the years I have been, I never did that. Yesterday was the deadline for it, so we made it just in time!

You’re best to Uber to Hs Then take the Skyliner. Ride shares are unable to enter Pop without a guest with a resort reservation.

Building 1 is complete. Building 2 is a WIP. Not sure about the current status of Bldg 5.
So if I need to call a Lyft/Uber early in the morning to take me to the Contemporary Resort to go fishing the ride share will not be allowed to pick me up at Pop Century???

If we do online check in and go straight to the rooms, does anyone know if we can go back to front desk and get the cool kid summer bags?

Has anyone done the PJ party?

I mean, I don't know if anybody's actually done it, but it's Walt Disney World. 😉 The reception cast members at Pop sprinkled pixie dust on absolutely every single encounter I had with them.

I can’t imagine why not.

Online Check in shouldnt make any difference in eligibility for the swag.

Can I use a LL at GOTG at 9:15am and make it back to Pop in time for checkout? I’m switching resorts and want to go to TL, so I’d like to hit GOTG, go back to Pop to change and then checkout. I’m thinking this will be doable as long as I don’t lollygag. How long does the trip from EP to Pop tend to take when Skyliner isn’t slammed?

Once you step on the Skyliner, I think it should take about 12-15 minutes (depending on it slowing intermittently and for how long) to get to Caribbean Beach, plus another 5 minutes to step off at the station at Pop. Getting from GOTG will depend on crowd level, walking pace, and line at the Skyliner (but I doubt it will have any sort of line going back to the resorts at that time). I think if you were off of GOTG by 10, you should get back to a room at Pop by 11, as long as you walk fast.

My guess is you can, but others less practiced and motivated probably would be cutting it too close to make it enjoyable (but perhaps exciting). As an added possible insurance, you might also request a late check out. I’ve had decent luck with such requests at Pop. Let us know how you do!

Sounds like an exciting challenge lol. I think you'd make it if there are no issues with the ride being down. If you are worried just drop your luggage at bell services before you go to the parks. If you make it back before 11 then head to your room otherwise checkout online from epcot 😉

I would feel comfortable doing this. I think you'll have plenty of time, assuming you scan in right at 915 and there are no issues with the ride or skyliner back.
