If you want a amazing hotel in Disney go to Disney's Pop Century Resort. They have around 3 pools and beautiful Disney sculptures. It's really close to Animal Kingdom. Also it's a very good price :). The past times I went to this hotel it was amazing! Inside they have a Disney Store an arcade, and takeout food. The rooms have everything. A tv, 1 or 2 beds, a full washroom, a safe, and much more.

Pop Century is located by the Studios-the other values "Allstars" are near AK and there is a thread for Pop Century under the Resorts thread.

The downside is that you just get a small room with an exterior corridor which means people are walking past your room 24 hours a day. Many of them are not considerate and make a lot of noise. As terrific as the theming is, I would never stay there again. Too noisy and not enough room for comfort if you have any kids along.

Can you walk through the hallways 24 hours a day at resorts with interior hallways/room access? Didn't realize it was only a value/mod only option.

Ok, I have to admit this post made me giggle. Have you ever stayed at a hotel that DIDN'T have a full washroom? And if having a "full washroom" is an amazing selling point for the OP, she's made me afraid to ever stay at Pop. :rotfl2:

You forgot to mention they also offer TV's! That would be the selling point for me, I know those TV's are hard to find at WDW!

We just stayed at Pop and I have to admit the curtain dividing the sink area from the sleeping area is a real plus. I remember when we had to bring our own curtains! As for the noise I ask for a lake view and find that it tends to be quieter that way as well as getting a third floor room. We were on the first floor the last two weeks and were not bothered by noise. Well except for the power pee-er in the room above us. I swear he was trying to drill a hole through the floor!:headache:

Interesting that you found that curtain to be a plus. We hated the Disney onsite properties exactly because of this weird layout that required a curtain. I hated the people walking by not just the door, but they walk by the windows and could look in, so really, we had to keep the window drapes shut most of the time. Made everything feel so cramped and dark. I hated it. I definitely prefer an interior corridor to an outside opening room.

As for the rooms having a full bath and TV, I think perhaps the OP may be from Europe or somewhere that's not the USA. Rooms in Europe do not always have their own bath, and most don't have TV's either. There are lots of places where the bath is a shared bath down the hall. Rooms with their own bath are fewer and cost a lot more. And when you make a reservation, you must specify you want a room with its own bath or you're not guaranteed to get one. It's not assumed there.

The last time we were in Berlin our room did have a TV (and a bathroom! lol) but it was TINY!!! The teensy-weensiest TV you could imagine. DH and I laughed and laughed when we saw it. :rotfl2:

I know this is completely OT, but I just have to comment on Bellamouse's statements: Well, I live in Europe, and have stayed in numerous hotels in Europe, and I have never, ever slept in a hotel without ensuite bathroom. Also, it is 15 years since i last stayed in a hotel without a TV in Europe. While hotels in Europe can be bad, the room quality of Pop Century is not the best either.

I didn't say they were BAD. Not having a bathroom or TV does not make a hotel room bad. But many places in Europe are older (although well maintained) and they just weren't designed each with their own bath.

Certainly newer hotels are built that way. So maybe you just stay at nicer, newer places than I did. But I stayed in an old pension off of Kufuerstendamm in Berlin - a very, very old building (very cool!) and there were lots of rooms with no private bath. Also in Venice (another old city) and I found the same in Paris and Vienna. I can't afford fancy, expensive hotels so we stay in Pensions and Gastzimmers and they were fantastic but not all of them have private baths.

I would also agree that Pop Century does not qualify as a good hotel IMO.

I have traveled in Europe and booked several cheap hotels with bath down the hall.

And honestly they were a lot cheaper and had more to offer then a Disney value

My families favorite resort is POP . We have stayed at all star sports and I have visited and eaten at most other resorts on property. While others are fancier and have bigger rooms , ect. We love POP , it's close to the parks and DTD and has good bus service as well as a good family feel. I have never had an issue with the noise being too loud. Every hotel I have ever stayed in you can hear people in the hallway and other rooms if they are loud. It is one of the most popular resorts at WDW and that means it will be busy and some noise is to be expected. To each their own but for my money I like POP and even though we could afford a mod we won't spend the extra for a room we are at to sleep , wash and change clothes at. We don't hang out by the pools much and we don't sit in the room , we take some afternoon naps but that is it. We have to young kids and the values work great for us.
