Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Hello friends! We just booked a few night at POP this August. This is the first time me and DD will be traveling alone! DH will be meeting us after a few nights and we were wondering if by any chance POP does ever allow a late checkout. DH will arrive at 4pm and we would love to hang by the hippy dippy for the day until we meet him without having to pack our stuff to move. I was hoping we could stay in the room until about 1pm- I would even pay a fee but didnt even know if this was an option? Thanks for any input! We are SO excited!

You can ask for a late checkout, they usually allow it but be prepared just in case they say no. It all depends on occupancy level for that night.

Up until 1:00PM - No charge
Up until 3:00PM - 1/2 of the nightly rack rate
Beyond 3:00PM - full nightly rack rate

Good to hear because I will not be picked up until 12pm to be taken to the airport so I will ask if I can stay a bit longer.

I went November 2015 and the ENTIRE 8 days it was 90+ degrees and very humid. All CMs said it was an unusually hot week so although November is typically beautiful...be prepared for anything. We still enjoyed our trip but had to revise our itinerary to include midday breaks in the AC.

We were there for two weeks at exactly the same time. We’d actually planned for warm days but cold nights with gloves and sweaters or coats for the party, and brought clothes for both warm and cold weather. Even at midnight it was still shorts and t-shirts and heat in the low 80s. It was incredible. But it’s so unpredictable that I’d still pack the same way in future - prepared for anything.

You can ask for a late check out but, as pp said, it's hit or miss and totally depends on whether they need your room or not.

You can use the resort amenities through your entire check out day so you can pack your room up, check your bags with bell services at the front of the resort and swim, lounge, eat etc until your husband gets there in the afternoon.

Hi all. I’m leaving pop tomorrow, and have some beverages in fridge to give away. Are we allowed to say that on here? Maybe someone can meet me in am in front of food court or something and I can pass them a bag of stuff I don’t want to waste. Some adult beverages, some not. If anyone is interested, pm me and maybe we can set up a pass off.

Also, I limped in my pjs to the front desk at 1am because I was getting nowhere by phone. Yes, a tour group was being disruptive. My ONLY request when coming was a quiet location as we sleep early. In comments I mentioned “quiet, so top floor without connecting door. “ We got a connecting door but have quiet neighbors. However, only second floor and yesterday they seem to Have moved a huge tour group to the 3rd & 4th floors. It was ridiculous. Pounding,music, stomping, running all around the halls like playing tag or something on every floor, etc. I was ready to sleep in lobby. Tonight maybe I will.

You can either call or use the online check in on Disney’s website. I personally like calling.

Did they shut down the noise once you complained in person? This is seriously the one thing I’m dreading (we arrive next week). Which building are you in?

I am in building 3. Lake view. Was super peaceful for 2 nights and then this. And re: whether it calmed down- I complained in pjs at the desk, he explained “tour groups, but we have extra security & they’ll check up plus keep checking for 30 minutes after.” Well I walked out. A group of guys were sitting outside the closed food court. As I walked, one came running behind me holding a cell phone. I stopped (someone running after me in dark doesn’t feel safe). He passed me by, then walked. Right to my building. Right to my stairwell. Ran up the stairs to the 3rd floor and started saying something to a goeup of people sitting in hallway. I went to second floor & started toward my room, turned and looked up & they were staring at me from catty corner 3rd floor. About an hour or so later, noisy again. I put my iPad on sleep machine app, turned it loud, & put it between my pillow & dd’s. Slept a few hours then it all started again at 6:50am.

Sorry so long, just wanted to be complete since it’s important to people. There are many groups at pop right now. Ask to be put where groups won’t be placed.

ETA that I’ve found a new owner for my leftover beverages. Feels good not to just waste it all!

Lol probably so. I always came mid August but was here after dd dance competition this time. Didn’t want to stay value, as i had heard the rumors but friend was insistent. It’s not the 15s themselves, it’s the fact that nobody at the resort can help solve the problems for other guests that the 15s are causing.

Have you experienced any of the really large groups(100 or more) as they march through the Parks with matching shirts and matching backpacks?

A Showcase Final would be awesome!

And they are right across the bridge from each other-it would really be exciting in that "corner" of WS!

Disney could set up a big screen in the area where British Revolution plays and let Guests watch it there!
