Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I noticed that the Touring Plans room finder has an option for a king/double room at Pop. Does anyone know if these rooms are still available in the non-renovated rooms? We are booked at POP for September and I'm not sure the new room layout will work for us. Thanks!

Those are handicapped accessible rooms and reserved for guests with physical challenges.

Thanks so much! Happy to know that. We may need to switch to CBR instead. We've not stayed at POP before, so I'm unfamiliar with their rooms. Is there room for a twin air mattress or rollaway? I read somewhere that there wouldn't be with the new reno rooms.

That's the huge downside of value rooms, they are very small. Plus with renovations it's hard to know just exactly how much space there will be until people start staying in them. It'll be a while until that happens.

Rollaways aren't available. In the current rooms there is space for an air mattress. Not sure if there will be in the new rooms.

True, BUT, you do get it if you request it and no one else needs it. We were there recently and got one of these rooms. I did the touringplans request for room 5122 and in the note part said nicely that we would love this room since we are just two people but maybe someone else needs it and if so, we would appreciate being in the 60's building lake view.
We got the room and the king bed was great! Location is also great. Away form the pool, close to AoA but still close to the main hall and buses. Loved it.

Sorry, but I am new to the site, we have reservations for 2 rooms for a week stay in mid September in POP in a standard room in celebration of a 50th wedding anniversary. Our party includes two 70 year olds and a 6 and 8 year old. We were rushed in booking to make the 180 day deadline to make restaurant reservations which went great. The problem is the more I read is the a preferred room is closer to dining and transportation which would benefit our older and younger people. However, it was $15 a night more so for 2 rooms would add an extra $210 + tax to the bill. Is it worth the difference in price to upgrade or are there some standard rooms that are also close? I understand you can request certain sections or buildings, of course not guaranteed to get them. What are the best sections to request as far as close proximity to dining and transportation? Thx in advance.

I am sorry if these questions have been asked/answered before in this thread but the thread is so huge I don't have enough time to read it all.

What happens to the table when you pull down the Murphy Bed? Does it get pushed aside somewhere where it can still be used?

Does anyone know the measurements of the Murphy Bed Mattress? Is it the same size as the previous beds at Pop?

And, add me to the list of people curious about whether an air mattress or cot will fit in the new rooms...

Thanks for your help :)

The table disappears when the Murphy bed is down because it is actually under the Murphy bed. The muphy bed is thought to be a full sized bed. No one knows for 100% until some pictures of the actual completed rooms are released

It folds. It is attached to the bed.

They appear to be like the ones at AoA but the table is smaller and looks like 2 chairs.

That's such a bummer that the table is no longer useful when utilizing the bed! Keeping fingers crossed that there will at least be room for a small cot/air mattress....

TOTALLY agree. Right now we are basing all this on the test room photos. So far no rooms have been completed and pictures released though I'm not holding out hope.

Thought the time frame to do a room was 20 days. It has been over 6 weeks since they started. Some rooms should be finished by now.
That is what I keep thinking/saying but someone did point out it is the first set of rooms, so maybe delays or problems arose. Hopefully the remaining rooms don't take as long. I am staying in December and I just hope I know where the construction is then so I can request a different building. But I am so eager to see a finished room.

I do hope they are at least half finished by December! We arrive on December 5th and I'd love a queen bed for my mom.

Stupid question but where does the table go when you open the murphy bed?

It "magically" folds up to provide support for the bed. You don't have to do anything to make it happen -- just grab the handle on the bed and start to lower it and the table folds itself.
