I wouldn't pay extra for pool preferred. We got upgraded to that a few years ago, we were right by hippy dippy pool, 3rd floor. It was so loud. We called security (it was around 1am and kids were screaming/running around). We went to the front desk the next morning and got a different room. We also found out our neighbors called security too. Not sure if it was just a fluke that night but I'll never stay right next to the pool again. I much prefer rooms on the lakeside.

Sorry you had to experience this!

I thought the pool rooms must get lots of noise, and can't imagine why you'd want to have one. But then again, I was young once and probably would have thought it's nice to just walk out of a room and to the pool. I to think the vibe of the hippy dippy pool was really great and fun, and DD and I were sorry we actually never did swim last trip! But we were also glad to be facing away on the top floor, so it was always very quiet when we were sleeping.

Sorry if this needs to be placed on the DDP thread instead, but thought maybe Pop veterans would know? Staying early August. I've been reviewing the online menu for Everything Pop. Curious about the Family Style Pizza I see listed, and can't seem to find an answer. Considering the price ($17 something) I would expect the size is regular vs a personal size? Anyone know if this pizza is a DDP 1 CS credit item? Seems like a great way to split a 1 CS credit item between two people if so...

We are staying at Pop for the first time a few nights before our cruise. I've looked at the map but can't decide where to request for our standard room. Any favorites? TIA.

I believe the family pizzas are two QS credits. But you can get a monster slice for one credit, plus drink and dessert.

My fav areas are 50s blg, top floor, lakeview. I've always been lucky to be placed in one of the closer 50s blgs to the food court but there is a further 50s blg that would be more of a walk. The 60s blg, top floor, lakeview is also a hit with me. However, the trees have grown in more in the 60s area so much less of a view of the water than in the 50s. Enjoy!

60's, lake view, building 5, 1st floor. Beautiful, quiet and quick to main hall/transportation...no waiting for the elevator, too =)

We've always stayed in the 60's until last month. 70's lake view just might be my new favourite.

Hey Fran, I'm reading your blog and really enjoying it! Thanks for sharing your experiences. 5 more days for me! :cheer2:

Hi again everyone! We booked a preferred room - tried for pool view but they were all gone. DH would like a ground floor room as close to the Hippy Dippy Pool as possible. Any advice on how to make this happen?

hi everyone!! WE have cruised DCL but never been to WDW.. DH and i just added a couple days here to check it out! so excited!!! what room should we request?? will likely be too chilly for pools.. we are 2 adults traveling without kids.. will likely spend most of our time in the parks as we only have a couple days.

Thank you! Can anyone tell me when to request? Now? Closer to our arrival? The second Tuesday of next week.......?

60 days before you can do online check in with your basic request (60's, Lake view - for example).
Then 5 days before your check-in you can fax over a more specific request (we did Room 5113 and requested noon check-in). We got room 5118 (5 down from our request, perfect) and we got our room ready text at 11:20am.

Today is our departure day!! Can't wait to try POP for the first time! :jumping1:
This is our first time too. We are really enjoying it. Hope you feel the same. There are some dance groups here, so they are a little annoying. But otherwise, it has been great

Have fun, BStew!
Mbuksa, if you have a chance, can you tell me the numbers of some of the rooms in the 60s section facing the pool at the end on the right on the ground floor? ( Phew! That was a run on sentence!)
There's probably a diagram somewhere, I just need to find it.......
TIA!

I use TouringPlans and you can see everything from their room viewer! I subscribed to it JUST for the room locator and the fax service!
It looks like the 60's building 4, the wing that is closer to the Main Hall and the side facing the pool the numbers are 4101 - 4112.
