Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

So how does the arcade work at Pop? Do you put in quarters or buy tokens? I'm not into video games but my DD5 is starting to like arcade games. It would be something to do on our pool day, in case it's too cold to swim.

You have to purchase a game card filled with credits. Each game cost a certain number of credits to play.

We love Pop and moderate hotels at Disney but agree with prior poster that Felix at Universal is the way to go. Loved Portofino Bay and the express pass. We love both Disney and Universal for different reasons. Universal is a big hit with tweens and teens as the rides have more thrill factor than the majority of Disney. Definitely worth a visit to Universal at some point I think

Thanks. I appreciate the info
Good luck figuring it out. I'll just add one more off topic comment and that is that the deluxe hotels are amazing but not really necessary unless it's really busy. We had no trouble seeing what we wanted and didn't have Express. I just have to plug Cabana Bay! ;)

We have been at Pop since Friday and love it as always, but our mousekeeping has been hit or miss. We arrived to no bath soap or shampoo. Also, some had left a prescription medication in the safe. The next day our mousekeeper left her blues latex cleaning glove in front of the tv. The past two days we haven't gotten a bath mat. Nothing huge, but normally we have excellent mousekeeping.

We are currently staying at Pop and I am really not impressed.

I will start with the positives. Transportation is great with only one bus stop to and from the parks. This alone at the holidays could make it a winner. We also love how the food court is very centralized and has many options.

Now for the bad. The beds are as hard as a rock. I wake up everyday with back pain (which is not a normal occurrence for me). I generally have found cast members to be unhelpful or many times to provide incorrect information. My daughter lost her iPad she has received for Christmas and they pretty much gave us a phone number to call and that was it.

Overall with the crazy crowds it might be worth staying just for the transportation but if it was any other time I would stay somewhere else.

We just booked Pop for a short stay in late January before a cruise. Our last trip we stayed at Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room and really liked the location of the resort so thought we would try Pop. We like to try different resorts each time! Some interesting comments from people who have recently stayed at Pop, both positive and negative. But that is usually par for the course! We also liked the bus service at AofA, so assume Pop will be the same.

See that the above poster liked the 70's building. Is this a good one to request? (We booked a standard room if that matters in building requests)

I always request 60's lakeside which is awesome, close to everything and quiet. This is my first time 70's lakeside and it seems a bit quieter then the 60's. I would definitely request this location again.

Finally told the kids, on Christmas, about our upcoming Disney trip Jan 28. This is our first stay at POP. We have stayed moderate our last three trips, but wanted to give POP a try. The resort looks so cute and fun, I can't wait to try it out. I love the fact that there is only 1 bus stop. I'm just so excited. I may be more excited than the kids. This thread has been great, thanks for all the tips and information

My trip is in 35 days, and I requested a higher floor in the 60's section. It will be my 3rd stay at Pop Century, and my friend who is going with me will be there for her first time. Now, I just hope there's not much rain in Florida, and no snow coming, and or going back to Chicago.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I am trying to edit my on line check in to check "highest floor" and the options are grey. The only thing it will let me check is "have room ready for early check in". Maybe you can't modify requests?? It has an edit option, but I can't do it. Is this just a glitch?

Do you already have 2 options checked? If so, you'll have to uncheck one of them in order to choose the highest floor option. It won't allow you to choose more than 2.

I did try to uncheck one, but it wouldn't let me. I tried calling Disney and they connected me with customer support but they couldn't figure it out either. They said it was a new function and they weren't sure how to correct. They transferred me to reservations and they said they would add my requests on their end. It's not a huge deal, but I just thought that the top floor may help to eliminate some of the potential noise of people above us. I am a really light sleeper.
