BOG breakfast reservations for 8:45 with 9am opening... Instead of dealing with buses that early, what about a taxi? Any guesses of cost? Would we be saving any time? Could the bellhop help arrange it for us?

We're going in January, arriving on the 19th! We've stayed at POFQ several times recently and this will be our first stay at POP since 2005. We're really looking forward to it!! I remember it being very fun with great CM's. We've never been at WDW in January before, this will be a first for us and I really don't know what to expect as far as weather goes but are hoping for the best. We went during the first week of December a number of years ago and I remember most days being pleasant with cool mornings and warm afternoons. Some evenings were cold though (especially in Epcot) and I remember wishing I had packed my scarf and gloves. I'll be doing that this year, LOL!

We will be leaving just as you arrive! It is only a short, budget trip for us since DD has 3 days straight off from school. She told me her classes are so fast paced that she plans to have perfect attendance this semester, so no missing school! This will only be our 3rd trip but I'm seriously addicted.

Hope you have a blast and I'm planning to pack well for all types of weather and hope for the best as well!

There's usually taxis around and available to take you anywhere. I'm not sure of the cost, but I'm thinking you might want to get dropped off at The Contemporary and walk from there.

But honestly? I would just take the bus.

Reading this thread has me really excited about our stay. We stayed onsite in 2014 at AOA in a Lion King Suite. It was fantastic but this time it will only be DD16 and me. I'm a bit nervous about the weather in January as I have seen that the weather can be all over the place and we are driving from NC. Here's hoping for a mild winter and good January weather. Anyone else going in January? Our dates are January 16-20. Just a short trip after my DD finishes her 1st semester of her junior year of HS. She's taking chemistry and a pretty hard math class so I think it will be a great celebration for the end of these tough classes. Can't wait! I think we will love Pop!
We have gone the last 3 years either the last week of January or first week of February! Weather has been good but colder. I like not sweating to death! We will be there again in January 22-31!!! My daughter can't wait to go back to Pop!!

Here now. They are working on fencing the computer pool in. I have magnets on my exterior door and window clings in the window. I bought them at the Dollar Tree. There are fewer windows decorated than in the past.

Both of my previous trips were in July so I'm looking forward to being able to stay in the parks all day without needing to escape the heat for afternoon breaks. We can't wait either! I've heard such great things about Pop so it will be great!

I decorated our window in March. It was my DD's 16th birthday....I had the gel window clings that said happy birthday and I also had these huge curled ribbon bows that I filled the ledge with.

Not sure how accurate, but taxifarefinder.com can estimate .. I got like $32.00, which is more than I would have assumed!

We will be at Pop at the end of the month. Can anyone that has been there recently tell me if they still have "Mom's Night Out" at the Food Court? It was always one of my favorite thing about Pop but I don't see it on any of the menus anymore. TIA

We are planning to decorate our windows for Christmas in December. We are making our own decorations using my Silhouette Cameo. It's been a huge part of the fun in planning to go!

Is it easy and relatively quick (faster than driving our own car) to get from Pop to Disney Springs? We'll be there Christmas week. How long is the drive? This is our first time staying at Pop and from what I've read, we are going to love it!

I don't think you would be saving any time. A taxi will let you off at the TTC and from there you have to get the monorail or ferry. Alternately, you can get the taxi to let you off at the Contemporary but you will be held up at the gate there to show ID and then you have to walk to MK.

Having done a taxi for a pre opening breakfast once before it was wonderful and significantly better than the stress of making sure you get a bus to get there on time. This will be our first time at POP so I can't say what a taxi fare is from POP, however back in may POR->Contemporary was $12 and the walk from there very pleasant.

I can't imagine that a fare from POP would be that significantly more expensive. The Bell Hops would also know.

How long can I reasonably expect bell services to hold my grocery delivery for me? I ordered for 3-5pm delivery time, then found Ohana reservation for 5pm on arrival day so we will have to head to the polynesian rather than waiting around the resort as I had planned. I can't get a later delivery time now, only earlier. Should I move the delivery time up in hopes our room is available before "official" check in, or leave the time as is and hope they can keep the cold stuff cold until we get back from dinner...

From looking at a map, Pop is almost twice as far as POR to the CR.

I've had to deal with WDW buses exactly one time (last trip going to MK from Beach Club Resort) and it wasn't something I would look forward to again anytime soon LOL So I understand the PP's interest in taking a cab. The taxi fare could be an overestimate on their part, which would be a good thing (better to assume it's more and be pleasantly surprised!)

There is a fare estimator for local cabs. I think it runs around on the Transportation Board. Anyway it'll give you a rough estimate.

There is also a lot of information floating around on Uber.

Here's the one that popped up in search.

Looks like $26 + tip

That's the exact site I had used, where it gave me $32. You got $26. Now I just did it again and got $23. I guess traffic and other factors change the fare?

Ok so we returned from our wonderful trip to Disney this past Friday. They did have a Bounce Back. I was thrilled to see there were no blackout dates. I booked our return for next year. :worship: The Bounce back has free dining. The dates are: 5/31-6/7/2016 or 8/26-10/1/2016.

But holy hell, it was humid and hot.
