Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I did my requests over the phone since I had three of them. I know they are not a guarantee and I'm still happy to be at Disney! The pixie dust just didn't go my way this time!

Checked in last night!

So far, so good (other than the weather forecast lol).

We requested 1st floor and close to transportation (standard room), and it worked out great this time, as we got a prime room in the 60s section, right next to the central elevator of building 4.

Off to our BoG lunch for now!

If anyone has any questions I'll try and pop in (hehe) over the next few days and answer if I can!
Share some pics! I am having withdrawals. 126 days to go!!

We are checking in one week from today!!! Woohoo! Does anyone know if they have actual 1/2 & 1/2 for coffee in the food court area? I hate the fake stuff and need to know whether to bring my own. Thanks!

Hello.

How did you Black out that number????
I want to share some things too without my personal info being shown. Please advise!

Thanks!

I used either my screenshot program called Snagit or Photoshop. If you don't have anything like that, you can probably use the Paint program that comes with Windows. :)

I so can't wait. We are so close. Went over our items today to make sure we have everything. We decided to stay 8 days this time. I wish I could stay longer but this will work. YEAH!!!!!

Oh has anyone seen the Bounce Back yet? I am looking forward to seeing that when I get to the hotel.

244 Days for me! first time at POP. I am so excited. I am waiting to book the hotel and tickets until South West releases their flight schedule ( it was supposed to be September 29 and now its OCtober 27 :guilty:) Any First timer tips for staying at POP?

Josh over at easywdw.com just posted a look at POPs new menu. A few crazy items, but overall I think the changes look good. :)

What! I keep up with the menu's - didn't hear about this... unless this is the one with those new burgers - in which case I did hear about it. Clicking now!:flower1:

UPDATE:
Checked out the link.
I actually DID have these changes in my personal notes from the Disney Go website - I did I typed them up about a week or so ago. But here is the entire list and prices from the sight if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the pics. For once someone is posting a close up pic of what those trinkets are at the souvenir shop. I'm a trinket person. I do always get a few higher-priced items, but I like to take home trinkets. I like getting a close-up glimpse of what I'm sure I'm going to get. Thanks for this. I know I am getting the shorter/rounder blue mug, the fridge magnets and the water bottle. I always pick up those small trinkets first before heading off to entering my room. I put them aside and rush of to MK! (*_*)

Returning in 90 days! :thumbsup2
I hope you love Pop as much as me. If you get a chance, take a walk around Pop and AofA. It's really quite beautiful around the lake.

I got back Aug 30... with the decision that I likely won't be back for a few years. I want to start saving for a house. But now that I'm back and I'm editing my pictures, I seriously don't know how I'm going to stay away! Hee hee hee Two of my sisters are in the talks with me about going down, so that may change. I would go with them. LOL

Over 6000 pictures on my camera with another 250 on my phone. :) I didn't seem to take a lot at Pop this time! I guess I need to go back there again. Hee hee hee.

Bus service is one of those things you have to take with a grain of salt. The bus service at AoA was so bad. Busy, crowded, long waits, etc. But I will give it a bit of a break, it was the October right after they opened. But no I wasn't fond of it at all. My worry is that POP is just as big and crowded as AoA and has only the one bus stop. Too many people at one stop means crowds and POP is big.

I've actually had great service at the All Stars and the PO resorts even with the occasional sharing. (and yeah that boat to DTD is a huge advantage) There are pros and cons to value and mod buststops though. I actually like the way values have forced lines, as the wait in a huddle then stalk the bus is a bit of a pain, but I'm really fond of the shade you get at the Mods over the wait in the sun lines at the Values.

I had pretty good service at WL and okay service at BC (this was back when they shared with Boardwalk and the Swan/Dolphin but I've seen that they now don't share with all four). But again no lines and you almost always share at the Deluxes.

That all being said, bus service is so selective that I never base my opinon of a resort ONLY on the bus service. I mean you could realistically have two people on the same bus who had totally different POV's. Long/Short wait, got a seat/had to stand, this can vary greatly.

I like riding the buses for the most part so I'll see how it goes at POP next month.

At the end of the day... I find that I love the aspect of the 24 hour Disney experience and staying at the resort and letting Disney do the driving for me. I love waiting on buses or a boat or a monorail. And if you are that much in a hurry to be at one given place... then you should at least make sure you have enough money to hop into a cab... or get yourself prepared to leave earlier. (for ADR's I am leaving 90 minutes ahead to get to places that I know I can probably get to in 30 minutes. Better early than caught-up in an unexpected delay.) Even though POP may or may not have the service that I was accustomed to at POFQ... I dont care. There are some things - as you said - you just have to take with a grain of salt. If it takes me a little longer than anticipated to get back to POP at the closing of a Park than it did for POFQ... oh well. I'll happily live through it. The thing is to read these boards and know what to expect and continue to enjoy your vacation and chalk these things up as "small stuff." You don't sweat the small stuff! (*_*)

Just read this. I love the reviews from Josh! It was great to see his pics of the menu and available items! It looks like they have lots of choices! We are only planning on one dinner there and a couple of breakfasts, but I love analyzing the menus. Probably because I'm the worst at ordering. It takes me ages to make a decision! This gives me a head start!

Most everything on the menu that we tried was yummy. We spent two weeks at Pop in August just after they introduced the new menu.,

Thanks for posting about it while you were there. I appreciated that and all of your other updates!

Glad to hear you got your requests! I would love to hear more about the food court options from you or anyone else who is just back or headed there. Also, how was your BOG lunch? What did you order? :)

We are only going for the rides and the food! :P Can you tell?

We will be at Pop Dec 13-21 for the first time and it is also our first trip to Disney. Me, my husband, and our 5 yo granddaughter. I'm so excited.

Hello SPOERLX3...

I have been paying attention to you. You are the best. Thanks for this post. I was just thinking that I need to see a map with all of this section and building posting going on. I will be arriving Oct 28th and starting to REALLY get DisneyStupid (super excited) now.

Thanks again!

Awww, thank you LadyDiznee123!
I love to help in any way that I can.

Sorry for such a late response. I have been sick for a couple of weeks and haven't felt like being anywhere near a computer!

Time to get excited! Just a little over 30 days to go for you!

Let us know how everything goes and :tinker:pixie dust for the perfect room for your family!
