Does anyone know if POP food court has Original Silk Soymilk? The red container which is plain? my daughter is allergic to milk. Thanks in advanced

I don't know about POP in particular but I've only seen the vanilla and chocolate in the food courts/CS that I've been in. I'd much prefer Original.

The hair dryers have changed. They no longer hang on the wall. It'll be located in a bag in the closet. It's still not the best hairdryer but it is a similar to one that I use at home.

We just got home last night and the dryer was still on the wall.

I don't know if they have fixed this bug or not but when I did my online check-in for POP early last fall, I ended up with 3 choices. I initially chose 2 (lake view, 50s bldg). A few days later, I realized I would rather have top floor than lake view so I went back in to try to change this, checked "top floor" but couldn't "unclick" lake view. I ended up with the 3 choices saved for my online check-in. I ended up getting a room that matched all 3 wants. I didn't do it on purpose. And I'm certainly no tech wizard. It was a happy accident. In the end, it all worked out for me :-)

The same thing happened to me and none of the requests were honored. I did add on at the last minute for room to be ready at check in. The room was not ready. The CM moved us to the 50s (wanted 60s lakeview) to a ready room.

Our room was half of 2 connecting rooms.

Maybe this is why I didn't remember the hair dryers in a bag.....the last 2 trips (September 2014 & December 2013) we were in the 50's section. Sounds like some of the area's/rooms haven't been upgraded to the bag hairdryers. Possibly, they only change them out as the wall hairdryers go out :confused3

The only true disaster that we had at Pop was the transportation. We usually drive to the parks so we only tried to bus it to MK twice but both times were a nightmare. The buses took FOREVER to come and there were so many people waiting. And why oh why would they not have a cover to keep you out of the sun when you're waiting forever for the buses?!? It was pretty dreadful.
We are going to Pop in December for two weeks and my plan was to use the buses for MK as well. Were you going first thing in the morning and they took that long or was it later in the day? We want to get to the MK at rope drop. We chose Pop because we had read that the transportation was great.

Just back from Pop last week. We had stayed there for one night a couple of years ago but this was our first time using it as our home base. We loved it, for the most part. I was worried about the tiny rooms but we really didn't have a problem, although we did have a king room so I think that opened things up a bit. We loved the pools and all the decorations and thought everything was so clean and bright. We saw them repainting the potato heads one day and I was thinking about how much I love Disney's attention to detail and maintenance.

I had to do laundry one night because my DD got a tummy bug (Puke laundry :crazy2:) and while I thought the credit card machines were better than coins would be, why not have some way to use your Magic Bands? That was the only time all week I didn't use it and it seemed weird. I want my laundry to be magical too.

We found the food court to be kind of hectic and awful so we usually walked to AoA, but that's probably a matter of preference.

Otherwise, thumbs up!

I think the reason is that at most, if not all, resorts (I know it's the case at the Swan and Dolphin), the laundry rooms and the arcades are serviced and rented by outside vendors, not Disney (or Starwood).

I LOVED the fact that in March at the BWI I didn't need quarters! I always pack a few pods of detergent and a ziploc bag of dryer sheets.

I haven't been in December but have gone in November for a number of years. If you are at the bus stop before 8am (7:45-7:50am is even better) then you should be good for all buses including MK. MK seems to have even more buses because that park is the most popular. If you arrive after 8 am, you may well run into long lines as people drift in after breakfast in the cafeteria.

The transportation is very good. After the fireworks the line is crazy long. It seemed like it took forever but it really was not all that long. They do however over fill the buses. One morning the line to MK was long and they called for more. We always use the transportation.

Is it difficult to get a seat then? There will be 10 of us there Christmas week, and I, too, am starting to worry about the buses. Most of us are good to stand but I worry about my mom having to stand for too long on the bus. I guess we will see how it goes. My brother will have at least one of their cars available so we could always split up and half of us ride the bus and half go by car.

In the past I would have said that someone would give up their seat for her. This trip was different. Not once did I see a person offer their seat or tell their child to.

That's disappointing to hear, but I appreciate the heads up, @dpswift. My mom is pretty tough and has battled through some significant health challenges. She's doing well, but I think standing and keeping her balance on a bus will not be easy for her. She doesn't want to be in a wheelchair the entire time though. Maybe the car will be her best option. I'm glad we have some time still to figure it all out.

Thanks! We're not as concerned about getting back to Pop just about getting to MK. We can drive to the other parks. We stayed at WL last time and the boat to MK was awesome, but it is too expensive for us and we never stay at the resort anyway. My daughter (12) is really excited about Pop.

Most people say they have plenty of luck with the buses at Pop so I wouldn't let our experience worry you too much. For some reason, we have always had fairly bad luck with buses on our Disney trips, at value, moderate, and deluxe. I think we have a bus curse. It just doesn't work for us. I HATE standing there watching bus after bus roll in and waiting to see what it says and it seems like it never is the one we're waiting for. Like I said, if you see us in a line, you should probably pick another destination. We are the opposite of bus magnets. I DO like that Pop has the actual line for the buses. We've stayed at POR and people just kind of bunch up there and have to self regulate. You know how that can go at Disney.

That's why we've mostly given up buses for driving ourselves. You still have to do the tram thing, at least at MK and AK but they seem to consistently come one after the other, NOT like our experience with the buses.

The two times we did try the buses on this trip were both for the MK but at somewhat odd times. Once about five in the afternoon to head back for the evening and once about 10:30 in the morning. Both times we were lured by the idea of not having to do park, take the tram, and the monorail but we were regretting it both times. It was the morning trip where the sun was really baking the bus lines. In the evening, there is some shade from the building itself. But I still don't get this. Why not build a cover to keep people shaded? It was really hot for our week so even in the morning, the sun was already beating us up.

Another thing to keep in mind, we have a two year so I think our opinion of the buses is colored by trying to carry her, a big stroller, and a big back pack. If it was just us and our magic bands, we might be more tolerant of the whole experience.

Sometimes it's a matter of perspective. The one morning we were waiting for a bus to MK, the lines were not long, but for some reason, two buses for EPCOT came, one for AK, DHS and Downtown Disney came before the first bus for MK. It was less than 10 minutes, we were near the front of the line. People were losing their minds about an outrageous wait because those buses had come and no MK -- it was still less than a 10 minute wait, but because two EPCOT buses came there was quite a bit of annoyance. That was the only morning we weren't at the bus stop before 8 am and there was a considerable difference in the size of the lines.

We rarely have a line when we leave the park because we tend to leave mid-day. One day we just missed the POP bus and hopped the AoA bus instead.

We were there in October and most of the time we didn't even have to stand in line because there were not many people at all.

At what point do you put in request's? My Trips in Sept/Oct just wasn't sure If I missed it or it's still coming up. Although I wouldn't even know what to request..lol

I noticed that you are going at Christmas. :thumbsup2
We were at Pop last Christmas and I have to say, bus service had never been better. :thumbsup2 Sure it was crowded, but they must add additional buses that time of year to keep up with the crowds. One thing I would recommend is to not get on the bus if the seats are already filled. Step aside and let others get on and wait for the next bus. That way you are all guaranteed a seat. And since buses are so plentiful that time of year, hopefully you won't have to wait more then five or ten minutes for the next bus.

You can add it to your reservation now. Call whoever you booked with to add it. Or you can do online checkin at 60 days out and make requests then.
