They moved us to a suite at Art of Animation, which was good and we enjoyed a lot. Plus threw in a few other perks as well to take away the sting of a few unpleasant days.
Awesome-a quick walk across Generation Gap Bridge and NO MORE PW! :)

In conclusion, we would stay at Pop Century again, just not during the Pop Warner week.
Also you may want to avoid January/February and July-those are the months for The 15s.

And January-early May sees many Cheer/Dance Twirl competitions-he All-Star Resort is "Ground Zero",but they do stay at POP at times as well.

Thanks for the heads up! Our only other trip was in July - and got the 15s then! So much clapping and chanting haha. But all in good spirit.
We will be sticking to Disneyland for the foreseeable future, as that's our 'home' park!

This is the exact room we requested through Touring Plans for the 6-12! It looked perfect. Sadly we didn't get it - we got parking lot facing. But also got top floor, no connecting door, so 2/3 isn't too bad!
I am sorry you didn't get this room too. It was perfect! I know what you endured with the teens; we had it in June at CSR with a teen convention and we nicely complained as well. Got moved to a preferred, much quieter room at the same resort. I agree that the kids are just having fun and I don't blame the teens but the adult supervision seems to be nonexistent with these large teen groups. This is why we picked the following week (16-20) because I knew POP Warner was in town and didn't want to deal with that again this year. I loved the Skyliner too and don't think I will ever stay anywhere else besides a skyliner resort!

Stayed at POP on 12/15 - 12/22. First time ever staying at a Value. Always stayed DVC with renting points. I requested thru Touring Plan a top floor room in the 60's building, did not get it. Got a 3rd floor in 70's area room 350. It was near the elevator but didn't hear much noise. It was still close to bus transportation, SkyLiner and Food Court. I would stay at POP again in a heartbeat. The SkyLiner was fantastic and that pretty much sealed the deal for me. So easy and quick. I went with my brother and we had the Murphy bed down and there was still room to move around. Bed very comfortable. Loved the rooms and how bright they were. Everyone on staff was very nice. Wasn't a big fan of the food court, food was hit and miss. But some of the desserts were delicious. Gingerbread cake YUM!!! Our room was ready when we arrived around 12PM and got the text so we didn't need to go to lobby. I did love the one stop for bus transportation. I usually stay at Old Key West and the numerous stops can be tiresome, so one stop bus was fantastic, just a bit of a hike when dropped off or being picked up at Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom. We did have a car and parking was no issue. For the price of POP it can't be beat with the SkyLiner being right there. Loved our stay.

What are the 15s? And curious to see what dates/weekends are bad late January...that’s when we’re going ;)

And you can use it anywhere in the parks?
I know you’ve already had an answer. But I just wanted to add that I had a couple of other physical gift cards, so I just went to the Gift Card site and added it to an existing one. I’d never done that before but it was very straightforward.

The 15s are groups of young girls who travel to Disney to celebrate their 15th birthday. They normally travel with large travel groups, wearing matching t-shirts, backpacks, etc.

Some have had experiences where they can be loud but the time we were there with them they were nothing but courteous. Very nice girls who had been taught how to act at Disney. We were in the same building as them and if we hadn't seen them walking about we wouldn't have known they were there.

They can be there at any time in Jan and Feb. Personally I would have no problem booking a trip at Pop during these dates again!

College Cheerleading and Dance Championship is January 17-19-they stay mostly at All-Star Sports.

UDA National Dance Team Championship is January 31-February 2-they are staying at the All-Stars and Coronado Springs.

The numbers of 15s in January are less than half the July numbers so I wouldn't worry too much about them unless your room is in the middle of them!lol :)

The 15s are Tour Groups of South American girls celebrating their 15th Birthday.

They are FAMOUS for their matching Backpacks and shirts and for their LARGE numbers!

Most are given the choice of a LARGE party at home or a trip to WDW(some will also go to NYC and Miami and Bahamas)and,in addition to WDW,most will also go to Universal,Sea World,Busch Gardens, etc.

Some will also have Private Parties(some with South American entertainers)as well as Quinceanera celebrations in World ShowPlace.

The largest numbers,BY FAR,are from Brazil and Argentina with smaller numbers from Uruguay,Paraguay,Chile,Venezuela, etc.

It is VERY interesting when Brazil and Argentina encounter each other-they DO NOT like each other-mainly because of Soccer.

Their rivalry is like Alabama v. Auburn or Ohio State v. Michigan on STEROIDS!:)

The "main" months for the migration of The 15s are July for their Winter Break and January/February for their Summer Break.

I am very familiar with The 15s as we go every July for my Birthday and,for the most part, they are really nice young ladies, but they can get "out of hand" at times!lol:)

They now use Private Buses alot and that has helped greatly as has the introduction of the Super Greeters in the Summer.

I present to you the LEGENDARY PHENOMENON KNOWN AS THE 15s!lol:)

Huge groups of girls from South American who are celebrating their quinceanera, which is a huge deal for them. They mainly have an impact on the food court and buses when they use them.

Thank you!! I thought I knew most Disney stuff at this point, but I had NEVER heard of the 15s! I’m sure they’re nice girls. I can see how the bus situation and food court could be totally thrown off though. Good thing Disney seems to be accommodating them a bit better. @WEDWDW love the picture!

I just returned from an 11 night stay at Pop last Saturday. The first half of my trip overlapped the end of Pop Warner. I didn’t personally have any issues with the kids or adults though, other than just seeing more people around the resort. I was in building 7, and I did notice a lot of them hanging out around the pool, but I didn’t have trouble crossing from one building to another. I have already booked my stay for next December and it will probably overlap their dates again (not on purpose but just how the dates work out).

I really enjoyed the Skyliner and found myself swapping MK days for Epcot days just because it was so much easier than the bus ( plus MK seemed a lot more crowded than Epcot). I did not experience stoppages on the Skyliner, but they often slowed down the Epcot line until it was barely moving. I didn’t eat much in the food court, not because it was busy, but because most of my dining was in the parks. I did enjoy taking the Skyliner over to Riviera and dining there once it opened. All in all it was a very enjoyable trip and I am looking forward to the one next month.

Planning to be there next weekend for a 7 day stay. Do we need to pack any jackets? I've been seeing the temps in the high 50s

In the winter you have to prepare for anything from the 30’s to the 80’s. Layers are your friend. I bring two jackets I can layer, one long sleeve shirt that can be layered, some jeans, some knee length shorts, lots of tee shirts and a hat and gloves. Bring a swimsuit too if you enjoy the pool (I am not a fan of public pools). Bring a rain poncho, not only for rain, but it can work as a substitute wind breaker in a pinch. Our weather in the winter typically cycles cold to warm every few days or so, so you could have a couple very cold days, and then it warms back up, then you get a couple cold days again. Rain can also last all day, as opposed to our shorter summer storms, because the rain is tied to weather fronts instead of sea breeze collisions.
