Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

My family and I are staying at POP in November. We have 2 rooms, one for my son and I and one for my sister and her family. We both booked standard rooms, but I would really like to request the Pac Man area rooms because my sister is a huge Pac-Man fan. But in pictures the only Pac-Man section rooms I see face the Computer Pool. Are there any standard rooms in the Pac-Man section or are they all in the Pool View room category?

Also, are there King bed rooms that connect to non-King bed rooms? I would prefer for my son and I to have a King bed room.

I looked on touringplans website and they do show 1 set of 2 connecting rooms (king + 2 doubles) on the back side of building 7 which is the Pac Man/ Roger Rabbit building. The room numbers are 7122 & 7123. The king room is a handicap accessible roll-in shower room. They do not face the pool and have a garden/courtyard view. Very few standard rooms face the pool; if they do it is usually an obstructed view.

There isn't a "Pac-Man" section exactly; the characters are "floor fencing decor" of the two 80's buildings (7 and 9), both of which have standard rooms in addition to standard pool rooms. I am reasonably sure the characters are affixed to all the sides of the buildings, all the way around.

(Plus, every section of Pop has standard rooms in addition to the other room location types.)

Have all the rooms at Pop been renovated? We have ressies at AsMo in Oct (2 regular rooms) and was hoping they would be done with renovations so we could get a new room but not sure they will be. Looking at the discounts that came out today we maybe able to get 2 regular rooms at the Pop for about $25 extra. Wanted to see if they are all updated before I decide. I don't want to book a prefered room.

They're working on the last two buildings now. Everything will be renovated come October for sure.

Thanks. I really wanted to save money but I think I would like to have a renovated room if it didn't cost much more. I will have to call when I get home for work and see. I'm just not sure that the Movies will be done by Oct.

Thanks. I think I'll pass on the King room then, I will need a tub to give my son a bath.

Thank you. I hadn't seen the back-side of that building so I wasn't sure if they Pac-Man characters went all the way around.

We are staying in a Preferred Room at Pop next week. I assume I still need to request a refurbished room if I want one? Is fax the way to go for requests or is it an online check in option?

What is the best way to make a room request? I am going with my 2 year old in December and wanted to request a crib and a tub. I called the reservation line and the girl put me on hold to speak with her manager 5 times and pretty much just told me to ask when I get there.. Thank you!!

So I just checked my room reservation and the choice of '2 double beds' isn't there anymore. It isn't showing up on ANY options for Pop Century resort, even though all the pictures show 2 double beds. Now your only choices are one king-size bed or a queen bed and a queen pull-down. What's going on? 2 double beds was an option yesterday...

Very tempted by the discount code I got emailed today :mickeyjum. Trying to decide if a short trip would be too much with a 6 month old! I've always wanted to go during Christmas and Food and Wine..

Pop Century has been undergoing major refurbishments to all rooms. They are getting close to being finished with the refurbishment process. Part of the changes that have taken place are changes to the beds. Instead of two double beds, they have installed one regular queen bed and one table/Murphy queen bed. King rooms are the same (no Murphy bed in those). Currently all rooms have either been refurbished or are in the process of being refurbished and are closed to guests. Thus it is no longer possible to receive a room with two double beds. Disney has changed their website description to accurately reflect what is now available at this resort. I'm sure new photos will be added soon.

All rooms now have either a Queen bed plus a queen pull-down or a King. They are updating their website to offer what is in the rooms. I'm sure new pictures will be posted soon too.

If you haven't been during Food & Wine, you really should if you can manage it. The food choices are AMAZING, and the "Eat to the Beat" music is very good too. (Of course we like Christmas too, and Flower and Garden, and anytime...)

We've been during Flower and Garden three times, and while it's pretty I find it kind of meh. The food choices weren't that exciting this year for me. I definitely think i'm going to try, its rough when you get more vacation than all your family lol. If only the baby was older!

We love flower and garden! We don’t try the food there though. I just like seeing all of the topiaries and getting pictures in front of them.

Oh my! Well, each to his or her own.

My wife is all things gardens (and animals), and she LOVES Flower and Garden. And as Haley said above, we LOVE the topiaries.

Our favorite events:

- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Parade (I do not know why, but we love it)
- Food & Wine
- Flower & Garden

Just changed our reservation from standard ASMU to preferred Pop, $65 extra for three nights. I liked the thought of not having to walk far at the end of a hot day. And being that we check in next Saturday, it will be hot!

Question is, since they refurbished the rooms, do the mini fridges have the freezer compartment in them? Sorry if it’s been asked before, we always bring bottled water, and it’d be great to be able to have them frozen at the start of the day. TIA!
