Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

I saw another video which shows Keurig coffee makers. Is this for just the non DVC side?

Edit: found a video posted a month ago and a room in the Tokelau building has the Cuisinart 6-8 cup coffeemaker.

Are both coffee refills available for purchase in the gift shop?

Apparently Moana theming is for non DVC rooms

Resort rooms Keurig

DVC coffee makers

Extra coffee available by calling housekeeping button on phone or asking housekeeping on halls.

I guess you could buy coffee but why?

I go many times a year from pop to gf and never bought coffee. However at blt I have brought filters n coffee from home cause it’s just easier.

I have not paid attention as to if coffee could be purchased because Disney gives it to you. Sorry I don’t have better info.

If you are going to have a stroller again then I would def avoid going to GCH for the monorail… there is only 1 elevator. Since the 3 DVC buildings are close to the TTC, I would just go there and take the Ferry or Monorail… there is a nice path. The resort boat is a hike from the DVC rooms as well. Also might want to request a ground floor with a stroller. The elevators are small in the buildings and there aren’t very many of them. Have a great trip!

I second this. And even the elevator in the GCH is on the smaller side. We didn't realize how close the TTC monorail was at first, by the end of the week we were doing that (even though it's a weird pain to get to Tuvalu from that side of the resort).

The elevators also had a long line with wheelchairs. We have never used them.

We will be walking over to the TTC from the Polynesian (Tokelau and Moorea were the only preferences left).

In August, we stayed at Polynesian. Came back from the parks one evening and our room had FLOODED! The Manager was sweeping water out of the room that came in from the balcony on the 1st floor of the Samoa building. It was when they had those back to back lightening storms. Thank goodness I requested that the room be mopped the night before because we had been there 6 days already and had our things off of the floor. Anyway, they comped us one night stay and moved us to a theme park view in the Aotearoa building for the remaining 4 nights of our trip. However, initially they asked us did we want to stay in the room after the water was removed. I was like "no thanks."

Other than that hiccup....our stay was amazing. We had so much fun. The cast members were so helpful and friendly. Our rooms were spotlesss. We had breakfast at Kona and it was delicious. We made so many wonderful memories!

Wow I have never seen the lake view studio at Poly DVC show up on the site/cash reservation.

DD has her Bach at BWI and said she wanted a few days with me at the end. We were disappointed with the cl offerings our last stay but love the Hawaii building . We are happy to have this option.

1) all the rooms have a patio/balcony
2) the price is the same as a Lagoon View resort side but many of the rooms are actually TPV

If interested there were more available April and May .

Would it be possible for me to have my child walk up the stairs while I carry the stroller up the stairs or are there a lot of steps up to the monorail?

It’s a long ramp, no steps (magic kingdom to monorail). You might need to maneuver the stroller (tilt stroller slightly) onto the monorail because there might be a slight misalignment

Depends on the stroller and child- but yes, you see people do this all the time. The staircases are very wide so there is plenty of room. I assume you are asking about the Polynesian stairs.

It’s possible, although I’d describe the staircases between first and second floors of the Grand Ceremonial House as around double the size of “normal” floors. Just really tall floor to ceiling floors in that building as everything is oversized. If you’re relatively fit and don’t mind carrying it, then it’s no problem at all - you see it frequently. The staircases are quite big/wide so tons of room.

There are two elevators in the GCH and personally having stayed there a ton when in the stroller phase, we never found the need to take the stairs. Maybe on occasional wait for a few cycles but nothing material, IMHO.

You first need to get to the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House. Then there is a straight walkway (ramp) to the monorail.
The line for the elevators is hit or miss. The stairs are basically 2 flights.

Yes, I was referring to the stairs at the Poly although its good to know that there are no steps at the MK station. :)

Thanks everyone, just want to go into the situation prepared. One more quick question; if we walk from Poly to the TTC and take the express monorail are there any stairs there?

No, just a ramp there too.

Not what you asked, but I would caution using the TTC during certain times of day, mainly the morning and especially rope drop. You have to merge into the regular TTC security line and sometimes in heavier crowd times that’s not all that fun. I would take the Poly monorail station 9.5 times out of 10 during those times. Like with anything Disney, YMMV based on conditions at the time.

We had a great view of the castle and space mountain when we stayed Lake view studio in August. One of my favourite memories was watching the fireworks from our balcony while eating Dole Whips (although it was quite a hike in that heat to get them back before they melted!)

Thanks! I love the Spikey Pineapple aka dolewhip with rum. That can get melty but still yummy!

I have stayed in Hawaii and love the view. It should be similar so I can’t wait.

Glad you all had a great trip. One of my favorite Disney resorts!

How long would ordering a dole whip take before fireworks? Wondering if it will all melt (going in Dec)
