Arriving at WDW tomorrow:wave::cheer2:
Super excited!!party:
Staying at the Polynesian in a bungalow for one night. We snagged a last minute cancellation.
We are DVC members and I know that this was a LOT of points, I figure that we'll never get another chance to stay there.
Then we are off to the Boardwalk for one night and finally the Grand Floridian.
Lots of resort hopping, but glad to be able to get these resorts for a last minute planned vacation.

Very happy that Matthew is off to sea.
Thoughts and prayers to those still affected by this storm.
Please remember to report back and let us know about the bungalow stay!
I hope you have a magical trip at all three! Sounds like so much fun!!

We are doing something similar (but not in a bungalow); in about 3 weeks we have one night in a Poly theme park view room before 6 nights at FW over Halloween. Decided to add a night and got a great rate. DH does not know first night is at Poly (he has never stayed here, I stayed in a Studio with friends last Spring). We fly in late morning, late breakfast at O'Hana, and my plan is to just relax at the Poly all day and evening, no parks. (we can always go to a park if we decide to later, of course).

So excited!

Thanks so much for this info. That is exactly what I'm planning to request as well so I'm happy to know what you got.
Thanks again!!!
I requested a balcony, but in Samoa. We also ended up on the 3rd floor of Fiji but on the other side. We have a beautiful view of the lagoon, Grand Floridian, and the monorail!!!

Months ago, I had no intention to to ever stay at the Poly.

I did not like the look, the layout and the rooms

But I thought there must be a reason why so many people love the Polynesian. Last January we had a reservation for dinner at Kona Café and we explored the resort more detailed afterwards and watched fireworks from the beach.

Well, this eveining, this disboards-thread and Tikimanpages got me to ask for point-rental availability for a studio in February. I have to admit it was my second choice, VGF studio was the first choice. I asked for standard view, initially I wanted a lake view but my friend who is with me told me he would rather enjoy a garden view and would be very pleased with a parking lot view (well...I would not be happy with a parking lot view but I had to convince him many months to try Disney at least once in his life, so I will follow his wish for a garden or parking lot view...).

I was told they have availability for a standard studio and are trying to reach a member now.

Please cross fingers for me that they will secure a reservation!

I would be so pleased with one of these studios and staying at the Poly for the first time.

Ah, and I just got a ressie for California Grill, Tiffins and Yachtsman for the exact dates and times I wanted. What a day :-)

Another gorgeous view. Sooo lucky
I hope we have good luck too.

Have you seen the Ohana Room Service Polynesian Twilight Feast video on YouTube by the Dis? We want to try it, but my number one question is... the food Oliver is showing, is it one portion worth?

My famiy hasn't been to Disney or the Poly in 3 years. I just booked out trip for next August!!!! I'm so excited but 9+mo is SOOOO long to wait. There are so many new changes at the Poly since we were last there. I can't wait for that wonderful smell that hits you when you first walk into the GCH, Ohana's for dinner, the poly beach and fireworks and taking my husband and kids to the Luau for the first time!

We will be there the first week of August. I have only been to Disney in December, January and mid September. Are crowds the 1st week of August still as heavy as "summer" crowds or have things slowed down a bit?

Haven't seen the video, but this is one adult order. There are stir fry veggies under the noodles, and we subbed out the shrimp for more steak / chicken.

wow thanks so much... now i finally know what 1 portion looks like. It looks smaller than i thought. Isn't it suppose to come with sticky wings?

Have a great time :yay:.

Good luck finding a DVC member with points :).

It seems far away, but your trip will be here before you know it! In the meantime, enjoy the planning :wizard:.

There are in there somewhere - I know there were 4 or 5. The plates are large dinner plates and are piled high, and there was probably 4-6 servings of salad. We've done it twice, and had a lot leftover both times with two adults eating.

Price is 40 + 18% gratituity. There might be a room service fee (under 5?) but I can't recall.

Did you get a discount? If so where ? We are planning August also. Maybe someone can answer about the crowds?

Would it be possible to post a picture of your view? I think I want Fiji, I just want to make sure I'll enjoy the view from either side. I already know I love the marina view! :)
