good morning! We can make our room requests today :) Would you chose Samoa or Hawaii building? We have a standard view, but it's also our first (and probably only) time we'll be staying at this level of Deluxe! Thank you!

Hawaii is not an option for you. Hawaii is Club Level only.

Don't choose the Hawaii building, it only has club level rooms. For whatever (dumb) reason Disney leaves that as an available check box for non-club level reservations which causes confusion. I can't help you with what longhouse to select (countless opinions around here), but just wanted to make sure you don't "waste" the selection opportunity on Hawaii.

Thank you so much. The agent I spoke to from guest services recommended Hawaii or Samoa.. Obviously she has no idea what she is talking about as she was viewing my standard view reservation. :(

Standard rooms are available in Fiji, Tuvalu (the side away from the Lagoon), Aotearoa, Samoa, Niue and Rarotonga.

When is the best time to photograph the scenery at the Poly? Morning or evening? I love taking pictures (in fact, we scheduled a whole day for doing nothing but taking pictures around the resort and different parks) and want to get some really nice shots with the island feel. I was thinking about doing some timelapse photography of either a sunrise or sunset at the beach.

Can anyone provide suggestions and pictures for DVC Standard View Studio Stays at Poly? Just booked for March 1st and want to get a plan for a good room request when time comes.

I am so excited to be soon landing on the Poly's doorstep!!! 14 glorious days to end summer vacation! :goodvibes

But does anyone get that feeling as your trip approaches that you have just SOOOO much to do, you haven't started anything and you don't know how to begin??? I'm 16 days out to starting our 22hour road trip and have NOTHING done! Well actually, that's not quite true...I've bought Tide pods and body glide. ::yes:: Oh my! :scared:
Hope you have a fantasic vacation and safe travels. Cant wait to hear what room you get.

What options for requests do they have to choose from when doing online check in?

Standard View Studios are in Tokelau, Pago Pago and the back side of Moorea. Certain Tokelau rooms have outstanding views, but there are only a handful of those.

Wouldn't happen to know which rooms or which view to ask for (west / east etc)
TouringPlans (which is a fairly low cost subscriiption) has a "room finder" - and they have pictures from most rooms in the different buildings ...

Can anyone confirm what pressed pennies are at the Poly? We missed the machine when we were there and my 6 year old keeps mentioning it. A friend is going in a few weeks, and I was going to have her grab one, but not sure which are there. Thank you!
We were there in May and my kids started collecting pennies and I never realized how many of these machines were around. I found a site that has a map/list of all the pennies and also which characters are on them. It looks like the poly has 6 different options for pennies and 1 quarter.

We are home :guilty:

The Poly was wonderful again and we had a fabulous week! We saw the largest crowds we have ever seen in the parks (not because of tour groups, we only saw a few of those). The crowds at the pools were much better than when we were there 4 years ago, I guess thanks to the gates. On the other hand, we did not have access to the pools late at night when we enjoy using them after the parks.

Here is a photo from our standard view from Fiji room 3312. The location was PERFECT for us for it's proximity to Captain Cook's, the monorail and the walkway to the GF (DS used the fitness center).

For anyone there now, what time does the pool close? Thanks!
We were there the 22nd to the 29th and the pools were open from 9 am to 11 pm each day. Maybe one day they might have been opened until midnight? It was a bummer because we enjoy the pool after the parks, and we only had time one night to enjoy Wishes and the pool after Epcot.

It's August! I will be staying at the Poly for the first time this month!!! 26 more days and like others have mentioned I still have a lot to do. DS7 doesn't know about the trip and he is home with me everyday during the summer so that makes packing and planning a little bit trickier. I will get it done though. I love packing and getting organized early. Hope everyone has a magical day!

Good luck with packing and any last minute planning. Hope you will report back after your trip. Have a great time :wizard:.

For standard view, our favorite is Samoa as it's just steps from the GCH, both pools, Captain Cooks and the beach. With that said, the Poly isn't all that spread out so none of the long houses are far from the main areas, but I especially like Samoa as it's centralized (IMO) and sits right in the heart of all the action :goodvibes.

Things like this, unfortunately, happen a lot as there are many CMs who give out incorrect information :sad2:.

I think both morning and evening would be great to do if possible, as both times of the day offer great photo opportunities :).

I can't help with DVC suggestions, but wanted to say have fun planning and I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Checking in at the Poly ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
