What type of coffee marker is in the standard view, non DVC rooms?
Do we need to buy coffee & filters for it from garden grocer, or are supplies there?

Thanks!
They are pods.. Single serve, look like a teabag

We are there in December and got a letter that the east pool construction would be taking place during our stay. So even if they had started on time, they weren't planning to be done until very late in the year. Their plan now is probably to have it ready by next spring (Easter?), given the late start. Hopefully that means they won't have to start until after Labor Day.

Seems crazy that they would've started anytime April-August anyway, with the pools being used more in those months. Who makes these decisions? Likely someone who has never vacationed at a Disney resort.

We stayed Poly CL from 6/8-6/15. It was our first time staying at this resort and our stay was absolutely amazing! We almost switched to the GF because we were nervous about construction, but we had absolutely no issues at all!
We were upgraded to a lagoon/theme park view and we watched Wishes from our balcony almost every nite.
Kona Cafe is our new favorite restaurant. We had 2 wonderful meals there!

Just called our TA to pay off our September trip today:yay:. Soo excited!

Do we need to request a pack and play in advance or are they already in the rooms/do we request it when we get there? We're in a standard room (not DVC) if that makes a difference.

Also, how big are the fridges? My mom is coming out and DD and I are staying at POFQ for 2 nights before the family Poly stay - we're planning a grocery run, but I want to make sure I don't overestimate fridge space - can I fit a full gallon of milk or a half gallon in there?

A half gallon fits on the door, you may be able to fit a full if you remove the shelves, but that would eliminate storage for other items.

Make sure it's noted on your reservation that you need a pack n play - it was in our room when we arrived.

The coffeemakers are Cuisenart's. They take the pods, not kcups. (JMHO, but to prevent guests from taking home extra kcups.)

Quick question - what are the pool hours at the volcano pool? We're going to be there in December and have been really frustrated by the short hours at the value resort pools (on our Dec '13 trip the pools were open like 10 to 7!), and I'm wondering if we're going to run into the same thing at the Poly since there won't be a quiet pool while we're there.

We are looking to move from WL to either Poly, BC, or BWI for our December trip. Anyone have info that might swing us in one direction or another? I hear the East pool might be closing soon? The big construction is pretty well completed, correct? Cross posting on BC and BWI threads....

At this point, nobody knows when, or even if the east pool is going to close. First they said end of April, then they said after the kids play area was done, then it was early summer, then it was after the 4th of July weekend, now people are being told the end of summer.
The east pool will be a pretty big construction project. they plan on adding a bar/grill and, from what I heard, completely re-designing the whole pool area. The problem is that a lot of buildings have views that look directly out onto the east pool.

You should just stick with the WL for now. It gives you another excuse to plan a Disney trip for next year when you can try other resorts. :D

Thanks! The WL is going to be undergoing major renovation for the next 2 years commencing in the Fall 2015. We love it there but not when all torn up. When I called Guest Services, they gave us the option of moving to Poly, BC, or BWI. We have been to all 3 and like different things at each. We have not been to the Poly for 3 years so I wasn't sure how things were going there at this point. BWI is not a favorite due to weird layout and theming. BC has awful quick service and only draw for us is the pool which is not a huge factor in December. So, Poly has most of what we like in Quick service, transport is great, and while holiday theming is minimal, it is still beautiful.
