Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Our week as has come to an end. We thoroughly enjoyed our daughters first trip to the Mouse. While I think Mousekeeping could use some improvements the location of the Poly will have us returning while we are still using strollers. The monorail is a Godsend! While out walking around the resort every CM greeted us and we had nothing but excellent food and service at Captain Cook's, Kona and the Pineapple Lanai. As we were walking to the GCH to hop on Magical Express last night I noticed there were CM's at the Oasis pool area wiping off the tables and doing what looked like prep to open. No major construction seemed to be happening after Thursday that I noticed. Now I need to start planning our next trip

Glad you enjoyed the Poly. We have always found the CMs to be very friendly with an "Aloha" every time we'd enter the lobby or while walking around the resort. Have fun planning the next trip .

We specifically wanted to go the GCH for something, otherwise we wouldn't have seen it either! From Moorea the TTC is definitely the way to go.

I can't belive after I waited out ALL the construction that now I have to worry about this. We are going in May.

Just back from a week stay at Club Level. While we have stayed at Club Level most of the time during our 17 years of Disney visits, this sadly will be our last. We found that while we continue to love the view, the food offerings have declined to a point where they do not justify the stay. We found the night appetizers cold most nights right after being put out for consumption. Most workers were there for the job (except for Irv, who always goes out of his way!) and we found that the "dining" area was often ill kept (tables dirty and not wiped down) which was a first for us to see! This was not a busy time as such and it was surprising and disappointing. The grounds however are beautiful, the Oasis pool looks magnificent and looks ready to open soon. We were told mid March. All the construction walls are down although they were still doing touch up work while we were there. I would again book Polynesian in a moments notice but would not spend the money on club level again as the service/food has just fallen to a point that it does not justify the cost.

I'm sorry you were disappointed but I know exactly what you mean. We used to stay club level but don't anymore. Not a smart use of my vacation dollars.

Only studios or bungalows at the Poly! Studio has one queen, one full pull out, and one twin pull down.

Let's clarify this a bit:

"Only studios or bungalows at the Poly!" - This is true only for the DVC part of the Poly resort, in other words no 1- or 2- bedroom villas. The non-DVC part of the resort has standard rooms, along with suites.

"Studio has one queen, one full pull out, and one twin pull down." - Actually the pull out in the Poly studios is a queen size, unlike other DVC studios which do have a full pull out (BWV, BCV, etc.).

Has anyone noticed the crowds at Trader Sam's? We are planning on having our anniversary dinner (at CG), then coming back to Poly to have a few drinks after before we relieve our babysitter (and possibly catch wishes on the beach). Our dinner is scheduled for 7:15 .. but it's on a Tuesday night.. should we expect a long wait when we get to Trader Sam's?

Yes! They are coast guard approved as life vests. We pack ours, worth the suitcase space I think!

7 months next week - biting my fingernails!

Do tell. Besides the obvious view and being on the water, what made them "wow" (for those of us who will be staring at them from afar).

I'll be with you sharing from afar, unless I win the Powerball A big part of the WoW is the view. But it's also the little things; the jacuzzi on the deck, the two swing chairs, the airiness of the rooms, the TV in the mirrors (a la the Grand Floridian Villas), the bathrooms, the privacy (it's a gated community), the exclusivity and the bragging rights.

Btw, in case you don't know, they give tours daily on the half hour from 2:00 to 3:00. That's how we saw them. I don't believe you have to be Polynesian guest to take the tour.

Tokelau, beach end, high floor. There are a limited number of Standard Views with much of a fireworks view, and they seem to all be the first few rooms of Tokelau.

I recently put in my room request through touring plans for Tokelau 3914 (west side of the building) best standard view room Ive seen there. Will be checking there in 39 days, will post some pics from that area hopefully!
