How far in advance can you book Disney's Pirate and Princess party?
If you have done this in the past I would like to hear from you on what you thought of it....Is it worth the $$$$$

We were fortunate to receive tickets from a very kind Diser who had a change in plans. What a blessing for us. It is the night I most remember from our trip. THE BEST fireworks show I have ever seen. There were NO LINES (although we had almost zero wait the entire trip). The kids had a blast (even my DS 12). I would do it again in a heart beat.

We went to one of the last parties in August and we loved it. If they do it again at the end of August we will definitely go again. We went to MNSSHP twice and we thought that this party was actually much better because there were no crowds at all. The fireworks were the best ones that we have seen at WDW and because the crowds were so light we actually found a seat right in front of the castle maybe 10 minustes before they started. I ordered our tickets a few months in advance and just picked them up after we arrived.

Can someone explain what the Pirate & Princess Party is :confused3 ? I gather that it is only offered at certain times. Where is it held? What does it entail?

Thanks!!!

We went to one of the late August parties and loved it. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the rumoured January dates, because we *really* want to go again on our next trip. The kids thought the loot stops were really fun, and still play with their pirate beads. And the crowds were non-existant. Everything we went on was a walk-on, even Splash Mountain! The themed fireworks were cool, and DD loved seeing Tink in the parade!

It is a special party like the Mickey's not so scarely halloween party and the Mickeys very merry christmas party. Children and adults as well as the Disney Characters dress up in pirate or princess costumes. There are really cool dance parties and attractions set up throught the Magic Kingdom which is where the event takes place. There is a very very cool parade that starts out with the princesses and their princes and ends up with all the villians and pirates. Jack Sparrow is there and the characters, dressed in Pirate attire, are available for pictures. When you enter, they give you a velvet pouch and they have lamp posts set up throughout the park marked with X's. The children (and adults) go from station to station based on the map which is provided. You get candy and loot at the stations. All of the rides are open and the wait is usually minimal because it is a ticketed affair. We LOVED it!!! There is also a very nicke fireworks show in front of the castle. Definately worth it.

Is the park closed to other's if they are not part of this pirate and princess party? Do you need to use your hopper pass to get in or does the fee's applied to the "party" allow you into the park?

**Thanks for all the reviews....it seems like we will have to definatley check it out**

Great info! Thanks! It sounds like a lot of fun. Too bad we won't be around that time!

The park is closed unless you have purchased a ticket for the event. You don't use your passes at all, just the ticket they issue you. It was great because we didn't purchase hoppers this time. We went to Animal Kingdom in the morning and got to go to Magic Kingdom in the evening for the Party so it was like having a hopper that day. :thumbsup2 . I think Disney created the party because so many people travel in the summer and other seasons where there is no "special" event like at Christmas or Halloween. Don't worry, I think whenever you travel the plan is to have a special event. It ran in the summer and spring last this year, odds are it will again since it was a big success.

I noticed they posted something saying the P&P party will be Jan-March 2008
does this mean there is no chance of it happening August 2008?

They did the same thing this year. They didn't add on the additional PPP until later in the season. As a matter of fact, we had our trip booked well before there were PPP available for August. I'm almost positive they will continue the trend for summer and early fall. We attended the final PPP of this season which was the first week of September but the schedule went up in May or June, if I remember properly, for the additional parties.
